   Been here a few times for dinner and everything is usually very good however, had lunch on Saturday and to be honest it was very disappointing, the service was poor and the food was average! The restaurant was very busy with only 2 members of staff tending the restaurant and the bar

   The meal was really good, but the service was very poor. People arrived after me and were given a menu before me, I waited a long time and then had to finally ask. The impression given was that nobody knew what they were doing.

   Left standing a long time on arrival and a couple were seated immediately and there was no ‘be with you in a moment’ comment from the server so we stood waiting for 5 minutes even after staff were walking by. Food was tasty and the choices were quirky. However the service was diabolical. Food came out quickly but before our drinks, had to remind waiter twice to bring us water and we got it half way through our mains! Also asked for condiments and didn’t receive any so just asked a table beside us. It wasn’t busy and there was no attention to detail. The table beside us ordered wine and had to wait some time for glasses!

   Slow service. Food order mixed up (waiter never wrote it down) . Had to ask for the heating to be turned up as it was cold. Steak deal - steaks small and not cooked how we asked for them. Wouldn't go back.

   Faultless food and service amazing, and the steaks are to die for. Would return in a heartbeat.

   The good was packed with flavour! Some great innovative combinations too like king prawn, whiskey sauce and tattie scone that worked a treat. Was lacking in a bit of atmosphere but this allowed for good conversation. I would go again.
