Bunker

Everytime I go to events in this area of Brooklyn I always bring my friends here and it is never a disappointment. The ambiance of the restaurant is fun and friendly and the music brings good vibes. A great place to go with a group and grub out with some amazing spins on Vietnamese street food. The cocktails are unexpected and innovative and I also love their press pot coffee after a big meal. Definitely one of my top ten favorite places!
Food was really good and Fresh. Everything ordered was amazing. I would definitely go again!
Great food, service, friendly staff. Just wish it was a bit warmer inside on such a cold and windy day. Would have definitely stayed longer.
I’ve been to Bunker many times and always enjoy the food, service, friendliness and drinks! I used to go to their first location in Ridgewood where I often waited for a seat. They take reservations now, the place is much bigger but it remains a go-to restaurant for me.
Great service as always, and great food.
Great meal in a slightly remote area of Bushwick but easily accessible by car. Very good service and the kitchen was very efficient. Food very tasty authentic vietnamese. Good place to go with a large group and very festive atmosphere.
I never write reviews. That said... we came as a party of 6 on a Sunday night. OMG I had forgotten how delicious the food is here. I'm a jaded New Yorker but this wowed me. Cocktails, service, ambience, all around a great meal. Not pretentious, just right. Right on Bunker.
Bunker is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in NYC. the food is consistently good and the ambiance is energetic and fun. The egg crepe is one of my "go-to's," the portions are great for sharing and well sized for entrees. Dinner for 4 with drinks can come out to $200 excluding tip. Great for casual celebrations and good for kids and parents.
Awesome, we will definitely be back.
Everything we tried was great.
Duck spring roll, carmelized shrimp, crab spring roll.
We especially liked the rib entree.
Our waiter was very patient and helpful giving us suggestions.
Went to Bunker before going to the theater. A little hard to find but worth it. The entrance is NOT on Scott avenue, but around the corner. Fun decor and atmosphere and the food was delicious. My dinner companion and I had the vegan summer rolls and my main courses was Caramelized Wild Shrimp with
heritage bacon, basil, grass-fed butter, jasmine rice. Highly recommended.
The service was knowledgeable without being snooty, the music was great, the seating spartan. The caramelized shrimp are sweet, salty, and super yummy! Don’t sleep on the rice that has been seeping in the sauce!
Delicious food, great vibes, yummy drinks. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Birthday !!
My BF and I have been here and few times and it hits the spot every single time. I have the Vermicelli bowl with grilled lemongrass short ribs and my BF had the mushroom flat noodles. Both were delicious. We also shared the shrimp banh xeo and papaya salad. Banh xeo was delicious, but the dressing for the papaya salad was way too salty. Overall good service, highly recommended.
Loved the food and service was great. Will definitely go again.
Delicious food. Fun atmosphere. Excllent service. It was everything we hoped it would be.
Always good food. Enjoy their small space the new spot is great!
Food was great. The server just did not remember that I wanted oxtail with my pho, seemed to always recommend something not on menu, didn’t offer hot sauce or etc with spring rolls and didn’t remember which card should be charged what
This is a fun and funky place with great Vietnamese food! Great sounds track and cool space - out of the way but plenty of parking - super attentive service.
The plates and silverware need improvement a little too rustic for my liking
Food was tasty and cooked well. Fried foods were light not greasy at all.
Good food, fun environment, but pricier than most Vietnamese restaurants in NYC.
Good overall. The Pho was not authentic Vietnamese as the broth lacks depth! The spring roll was not wrapped in rice paper. The papaya salad with beef jerky was good along with the flat noodle with duck!
This place is still so undiscovered and soooo amazing. I don’t want to write this review because I don’t want more people to go, but it’s really that good! The food/ambiance/service is so unpretentious and just stands on its own. Your Uber driver might be concerned they might get robbed, neighborhood could not be more out of the way and random, but that’s part of the whole thing. Could not recommend it more
So yummy!!! Had the lemongrass short rib bahn mi- best I’ve EVER had! Wonderful staff was very attentive and quick. Thanks for a stellar dinner ✨✨
Great vibe, delicious food!
Solid. would come back. Got bad seats right behind the front counter. Beef in the pho could be a little more raw when it comes to the table. Ingredients are top notch you can taste the difference
I love the food at Bunker, from when it was first on Metropolitan. The pho seems authentic, and the other foods are always interesting.
Our family loves Bunker. Kids are always willing to explore the menu and discover something new they like. Waitstaff is so friendly and attentive.
Anyone looking for some pretty tasty Vietnamese food, and good fun drink will not be disappointed. This is a great place to go with a group of friends, share some little bites off the appetizer menu, and not spend an arm and a leg. There were a couple stand-outs from our meal including the side of chinese broccoli, and the duck spring rolls. From the main course/entree items, we ordered the beef pho, which was not completely disappointing but it did miss the mark in that it needed more salt, more body; it was lacking something IMO... Also, the sauteed lamb ribs left much to be desired since there wasn't much meat on the bones at all. All in all, Bunker is a lively and (mostly) delicious restaurant that is best taken advantage of by ordering the smaller more snacky items.
Amazing! Food was unreal
If you think Bun-ker 2019 is 5 stars then you would have given Bun-ker 2014 a whopping 25 stars.
Sad and disappointing to see such a gem slowly and steadily work its way from the talk of the town to just an average Vietnamese place.
Perhaps, in six months, it'll work it's way down to just another place to grab a Bahn Mi and some Pho if you happen to be near by.
Food was quite tasty, especially the curry puff and vegetarian noodle dish. However, Ban Mi was disappointing -- bread was crumbly and not what I was expecting (although the ribs inside the sandwich were really good!). Expect to yell a lot at the person next to you or across the table from you because by the time we finished our food the music was really loud. I guess these restaurants continue to try to be trendy and "energetic" (to use Open Table's words) but why restaurants try to be both a dance club and food place I'll never know (maybe I'm getting too old :)
Food was reminiscent of what my husband grew up with & the first couple of times we’ve been at the smaller location. Recommended to everyone to stop by & try.
Don't miss Bunker. Amazing food, drinks and vibe! Highly recommend it for a date night or a fun night out. Such a gem!
Thought the GPS messed up! Thankfully we snooped around. ‘Tis a very interesting re-emerging neighborhood in Bushwick Brooklyn. A diamond in the rough so to speak. Food was great! Fresh & flavorful. Something for everyone. Sampled stuffed wings, fried crepe, oxtail hash & a Beef short rib bowl. Dessert was a tapioca pudding with some tropical fruits. Cocktails were fun especially the happy hour prices. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food, friendly and efficient service, great buzz.
The best best best
Lovely ambiance and amazing wait staff! It was great to finally find a Vietnamese restaurant that caters to Vegans! Everything we had was superb! I highly recommend this place and will be back many more times!
The food was fantastic! Beef pho tasted spot-on and authentic, with a rich, salty broth and all the usual ingredients on the side (Thai basil, bean sprouts, etc.). All-in-all, a great experience. Knocking down a star, because the food is overpriced; there's simply no way pho should be $18.
