The Tealeaf alad was excellent and my lamb kebat was nicely done (spicy too). Overall my wife and I really enjoyed it
I came here for my birthday on a weekday night, and the staff made my dining experience special! The food was delicious and the waiter brought out ice cream with a candle on it & sang happy birthday, which was really nice.
Love, love, love the Tea Leaf Salad! This is why I go to Burma Ruby and will keep coming back.
Nice cozy place for family dinner and beautiful ambiance.
The Manager and our server surprised us with a birthday ice cream with candle. It felt awesome. Awesome service and delicious food.
Great vegetarian options that came in wholesome portions. We stuck with a salad and a couple of appetizers. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and answered all our food questions without recourse to the kitchen. The only nit perhaps was that they were short staffed and it showed in the speed of service.
We love Burmese food, and they make it really well. Naturally we have no idea how authentic it is, but we love the taste. Tea leave salad is a must every visit.
We always love Burma Ruby. Tonight was no exception!
Made business lunch reservation for 12:15pm on a Monday. We were a party of 3 people. They were a little slow to welcome/greet us as we walked in. We literally stood at the booth for good minute or two before someone came to us. This would be my biggest complaint in an otherwise good first dining experience. We ordered Tea leaf salad, beef and basil and curry shrimp. Of the 3 dishes, we all agreed the best dish was the tea leaf salad. The curry shrimp was next favorite followed by the beef n basil. The beef was slightly tough. I'm used to very tender beef that I usually find at good Chinese restaurants. Also we only found maybe 2 basil leaves in our dish. All 3 dishes were tasty and we enjoyed them all. Once we were seated service was good. I would recommend and look forward to trying some of their other dushes.
Delicious food, interesting menu, but very slow service.
Fantastic customer service, really great menu - food tasted great. Highly recommend this restaurant. It was the first visit for my husband and I, and we will be back again!
Wonderful overall. Have been there a few times already.
Great food and great staff. If you’ve never had Burmese food, the staff is always helpful with recommendations. Had the green tea salad, the dinosaur soup, and chicken kabat. Would order it all again.
Located in the heart of University Ave in Palo Alto. Nice ambiance. Really tasty food. Great service. A really nice place to meet up with friends.
Came here for dinner with work colleagues from around the world because they offered reservations for a party our size and had a varied menu. What a delight it was! Everything was delicious, and believe me we ordered plenty of dishes to share, and the service was top notch. I can’t wait to return to Palo Alto to enjoy this place again!!
Good, not great. Yummy pad thai, pressed tofu with green beans, tea leaf salad. Dishes could have been a bite bigger. We ordered 12 entrees for 8 people, family style eating, and I was just barely full.
Great food, great customer service, great atmosphere. The perfect place to dine with someone special or the entire family. No matter what the occasion, Burma Ruby is the right fit for all😁
Awesome. Great food. Courteous servers. Had no problem with me waiting a little for a friend
We went for a Mother’s Day dinner with a prior reservation. We didn’t wait at all for our table. Service was courteous and prompt. We are vegetarian so enough choices for us but our all three dishes had the same base.
I usually really enjoy eating here. On this specific evening, I felt like all 3 dishes tasted the same and lacked the flavors I usually enjoy.
I ordered: samosas, mango tofu and pad Thai chicken.
All three were sweet. The pad Thai was saucy and the tofu was bland.
Burma ruby has good food and good service. Their wine list had changed since we were there the last time but it is still good.
Always excellent food and service. Highly recommend this place for special occasions and everyday eating.
Perfect again! Service was prompt and friendly and the Tea Leaf Salad, Walnut Prawns, and Lettuce Cups were great. Will be back...
The Hostes was the best 👍🏻
The waitress so so took a long time after bringing the dishes to bring the drinks 🍸
At the payment wrong bill
Anyway we love the tea leafs salad and it was great to seat outside on a beautiful night 😉
I would like to believe that the service this time was an exception. I admit that the restaurant was fuller than I have seen it the previous times I have been there but good service should not suffer on account of how busy a restaurant is. They did warn us at the time of seating that it will take some time for the food to be brought to the table but I didn't expect that much delay. The drinks took 30 minutes to arrive, the tea salad took 45 minutes to arrive, which IMO is unacceptable even for a busy restaurant. And I saw that the food was served on another table before us, the occupants of which had arrived later than we did. We were very disappointed with the service and makes us think that it is not equipped to handle a full restaurant.
If you are in Plao Alto, this is a great place to stop for an exotic meal. The menu is very similar to Burma Superstar (font looks the same). The food is great. Start a meal family style with a Ginger salad or tea leaf salad instead of an appetizer. Highly recommended and the main courses are all winners also.,
Service took forever, even though we got there around 615pm; my kid was about to tantrum by 7pm and no food yet. Then she brought out all the adult food first, kids last. What?! No small bowl of rice or anything in the meantime. Know Your Customer, people! Rangoon Ruby much better experience
Food quality has declined over the years, service is friendly but sometimes chaotic.
mgr accommodated us even tho I made reservation incorrectly.
We fondly remember our first time in Rangoon Ruby years ago. Great food, drinks, and exceptionally well organized service - despite of the extreme croud. We prefer a bit quieter place, so lately we have been visiting Burma Ruby. Food still great, the bar needs a full time bartender - but otherwise previously we did not have any problem. During our last visit the service was a complete disaster. We are not coming back to this place in the near future.
Delicious food and interesting cocktails. This was a first for me to eat Burmese food, so I can’t verify how authentic the food is. But the food was creative and tasty, and I will definitely be back.
Thank you for the great rating and review! We are glad you enjoyed your first experience tasting Burmese cuisine and can't wait for you to explore more of our menu. We look forward to seeing you next time! Take care.
It was our first experience trying Burmese food. The staff was very helpful directing us to authentic tasty food. The food was wonderful! Good size portions and delicious. We enjoyed leftovers the next day. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Thank you for the kind words and recommendation, Joyce! We are happy that you enjoyed our food and found navigating our menu a bit easier due to the help of our staff. Our guests deserve nothing less! We appreciate you sharing and look forward to seeing you again.
Pretty place, good food, server was helpful but getting food and drinks to us was slow and sporadic. Table next to us came in much later but was served much sooner than we. Partner's food arrived much sooner than mine and way before beverages finally showed up. Someone else's order was brought to our table. No one was minding the front door which stayed open with every exit and entry in a very cold evening.
Great food and great presentation!
The food was good and peculiar; i.e. an interesting mix of thai, indian and chinese styles, which may or may not be the authentic burmese cuisine (this was my first experience with burmese). There are a few different dishes and/or sauces that you can combine with any kind of protein. The food was tasty and abundant. The service was not great: Slow and sometimes forgetful, but polite. A good place, but not quite great.
The food and presentation was great. However the fish soup was saltier this time around and was way too thick. I would've loved it with more broth otherwise everything else was great.
Been here before. The food selection is excellent, though certainly more geared towards spicy. The cocktail service is a bit slow, but worth the wait.
Delicious food, great service. Very enjoyable evening.
took a friend here and had a great time.
2 of 4 guests were very happy with their entre's, the service was great but the tables were close to each other and the noise level was energetic.
