Don’t expect the same food or ambiance as Carmines on Penn. Our veal Marsala was so tough we almost couldn’t chew it, their half portions are half of the half sizes and we were rushed out the door at 20 past 9pm. Server had no recommendations and no personality.

Service was very very poor. The food was good but a restaurant with those prices should require their staff to be more professional and experienced.

They are upfront about adding 4% for kitchen staff on line but I got hit with a surprise 3.5% surcharge for a fee they have to pay McGregor Square! That is ridiculous ! Over 7% added to my check before tip.

The salad and bread was good, but the pasta and chicken dishes were not. Also, the restaurant was mostly empty but they sat us at a table in direct line with the setting sun so the sunshine was in our eyes for half of our dinner. Very disappointing dinner.

We had a spectacular dinner at this location. Our waiter was more than knowledgeable on every inch of the menu. Food was phenomenal. We plan to come again.

They are struggling with identity. The attire of the staff is suits and ties. The customers are very casual. This location is amidst sports bars and the patio opens onto a huge screen displaying sporting games. The maitre d and our waiter were unfriendly and dismissive. Our waiter did not greet us. He came to the table and said anyone know what they want? Two of us ordered drinks but 5 of us had not responded. He walked away. When he came back he plunked the drinks down and said you know what you want to eat? We asked for five more drinks. He grimaced and didn’t come back for 20 minutes. When he came back, he put them down on one side of the table and said you know what you want to eat? The service continued to be non verbal after that with grunts and him walking away as we were mid sentence. Our food was cold, served table side. We were not asked how things were. The bill was left without a thank you or acknowledgement The table next to us nodded their head at us. They noted they received the wrong bill and did not receive all the food they’d asked for, incorrect food. They had the same server. Before they left, they had the maitre d come over and fix the bill. There was an apology but not gracious and not authentic, begrudgingly given. Good luck to those who dine here. It’s not worth it.

Lovely time at Carnines. The ravioli and chicken parm were very good, and even though it was family style, the helpings for two instead of four were perfect for a party of two. Sit outside on the patio to people watch at McGregor square!

Loved celebrating my wife’s birthday with my three children here. Servers took great care of us and food was too notch. Memorable evening.

We came here for my dad’s birthday and he is in his 70s. We had a great experience. The ambiance was pleasant and it was easy to talk. The food was classic and high quality. We had a lovely dessert to celebrate the occasion. Would recommend for a special occasion or any type of family gathering.
