Dining together allows us to better understand who we are, regardless of our social status. The food does not have to be elegant, complicated, or fancy. We find that busy people like simple food—the busier they are, the simpler the food. Our menu is straightforward, down-home Southern food with a few more contemporary dishes.

Getting back to the table allows us to love and nurture each other and renew connections to our families—however they may be configured—in this diverse and ever-changing society. Such connections are crucial in a fast-paced world where we feel more disconnected every day. One of the best ways we know how to restore that daily balance is to sit down at our table.

We should all think about returning to the sanctity of the table, where we can rebuild our families whether they be given or chosen, and reconnect with those we love and choose to love. Our table is a familiar, uncomplicated, friendly place where we can celebrate.

Food was pretty good. Not a ton of options especially for vegetarian but still good. Service and ambience were average.

The Fried Chicken is worth the trip. 35.00 with only mashed potatoes is very Pricey. Deviled eggs were tasty. Crab Cakes were good. Catfish and Grits also good. Mashed potatoes ate very yum. Total value is ok. 20% off with Shakespeare theater discount offsets the mandatory 20% gratuity added to the bill. They Also give discount on parking.

The service from Leslie was good. She was helpful and knowledgeable. The greens and fried chicken bites were good. My guest wasn't a fan of her Jambalaya as it tasted like a tomato rice, lacked flavor. My catfish was meh on flavor as well. Lastly, the old-fashioned barely filled half the glass. I won't say that I'll never return, but I'm in no rush.

We enjoyed eating at this restaurantp very much. The food, though simple, was delicious, our server, Bridget, was very competent, attentive and courteous. We also enjoyed the pleasant relaxed atmosphere.

This has been our go-to restaurant for when we are attending Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Food snd service are always excellent, and we appreciate the 20% discount on food for Shakespeare attendees.

This is my go to restaurant on Navy Pier. Always delicious, great bar, wonderful waitstaff, just excellent all around. And, Chef Smith's cookbook is wonderful too.
