Craft Bistro & Bar

Craft Bistro is a remake of what I think was a very nice restaurant called Cassis. It is strangely decorated and although they have tried to remake it in a modernesque style, remnants of the old restaurant remain. The service we had was pretty awful. The waiter did not remember our drink order then, after telling him again of our order, another waiter brought the wrong drink order altogether. The food was simple and okay. The service again was poor with other overly energetic wait staff removing plates before food was finished or asking us. The restaurant acoustics are poor and it is very loud.
We wish them luck but won't be back.
My meal was served after every one at table finished their main dish
They did right thing and did not charge the$ 27 for my order.
Good was excellent
First time I had dinner there, it was very noisy. This time, not so much, but it was less crowded. Both visits were on a week night. Service excellent; not intrusive or condescending like some places. Food was superbly prepared and presented. Manager (owner?) friendly, cared about our dining pleasure. Highly recommend. Look forward to returning. Ample parking.
Brasserie Cassis was very quiet when we visited on this Sunday evening in August. Our fish entrees were prepared to perfection, as always, and the service was impeccable. You won't go wrong at Brasserie Cassis!
Delicious food, excellent service, lovely bistro look.
We love going to Cassis-the food is fabulous! Everything in the menu is outstanding! Our server Roberto was wonderful-attentive and funny and kind. The owner/manager always stops by the table to ask how things are going but also takes the time to get to know the people in his restaurant. It is this level of service that makes such a difference.
Nice atmosphere. Food and service were good. Unexpected find in a busy shopping center.
Food and service were excellent
I brought my parents (again!) as they are fans of French cuisine! Superb mussels, delectable braised lamb and wonderful chicken schnitzel-flavorful yet light-just perfect!
Great personal attention and a favorite!!!!
Awesome food, super attentive service. If you can't afford a trip to Paris, this place is the next best thing! Highly recommended.
Always consistently good food and service
Always great. 7 of us shared a corner table. Perfect for conversation. Food, as always, was quite good. Service was attentive. Atmosphere is consistent with the bistro theme, and very pleasant. Great bar. Ample parking. Definitely a favorite!
Outstanding as always, everything here is cooked perfectly and each plate has the right balance of flavors. Cost won’t kill ya either.
Very friendly and welcoming Delicious short ribs
Food good, service good, but noise level too high by a lot, at least when the restaurant is full, which was the case when I was there.
Cassis is consistently good and getsnitnright. The brie toast with figs is a must try item. Cassis salad is delicious. We got the burger and schnitzel enttrees both delicious. Fries arr top notch. Never had a bad meal here and its a relaxed and fun atmosphere
We love Brasserie Cassis. The service is great, and the food is out of this world. We've been here for dinner and Sunday brunch. The owner is on premises all the time. On one occasion I messed up our reservation and when my wife and I arrived, they didn't have us registered for a table, and the place was mobbed. The owner offered to sit us at the bar. It was great. I actually think sitting at the bar was more fun for two than at a table because we could just about whisper to each other as we were sitting shoulder to shoulder. We were there this past Monday and the owner gave out some neat little lobster thing to the guests seated at the tables. The staff is attentive and you don't have to wait very long to be noticed when you need something. The food tastes a lot more expensive than the check might suggest too. All in all, we're very happy with Brasserie Cassis. We've been here for birthdays, Mother's day, Valentine's day, etc and we've always left happy. Do yourself a favor and have dinner here. You'll love it!
Met my son for lunch and we enjoyed our meal. We also enjoyed the visit and were not rushed through our meal.
Wonderful restaurant! We went there for a romantic date night. The restaurant's decor is beautiful and the food was outstanding. I had the COQUILLES ST JACQUES ET CREVETTES, which is a dish I will dream of eating again. Wonderful staff too.
Frequently come here. Always excellent, always delivers the best experience. From food to drinks to service. Everything about this place is 5 stars
Brasserie Cassis offers outstanding traditional French dishes in an updated brasserie atmosphere. The noise level here can be a problem, although it was moderately quiet when we visited over the July Fourth weekend. My steak au poivre appetizer and profiteroles dessert selections were outstanding. In particular, the steak was done to medium-rare perfection while the peppercorn sauce had just the right finesse. You can't go wrong at Brasserie Cassis, although it may surprise prospective patrons to find such a gem tucked away in a rather nondescript suburban strip mall. The staff at Cassis is attentive, and they don't mind if you and your guests wish to linger over coffee.
Manager was super attentive and food was excellent. Will totally come back!
We frequently dine at Brasserie Cassis. Our meal is always excellent. The food is fresh and cooked to order. Everything we order,be it the chicken sandwich, salmon, muscles, ahi tuna sandwich, or half roasted chicken, is always delicious. Salads are always fresh, and all desserts are worth trying. The manager is always welcoming and always making sure everything is going well at your table. Brasserie Cassis is a good neighborhood restaurant, with great food, and a comfortable atmosphere. It’s a definite go to over and over again restaurant.
If you are looking for the best meal, great staff, comfortable surroundings this is it. Manager John is awesome
First time there, shared mussels appetizer which was spectacular, wife had excellent burger, and my Coquille St. Jacques was terrific. Friendly and knowledge staff and management. Great neighborhood place. Very strong recommendation!
We ordered the salmon and sole and it was perfectly prepared
Service is attentive and profitable
Consistently good over multiple visits. Service was just a little slow the other day, but still good. Food is consistently great.
Waited over an hour for our food.
Menu changed...I go there for their duck l’orange and now it’s only available on Tuesdays. Food was ok but service was off. While there they must have dropped half dozen plates and glasses
Food & service excellent!! Brought friends with us that had never been there before & they LOVED it & are sure to return!
As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The service is outstanding and the food is excellent!
Have been to Brasserie Cassis once a week for the last ten years and keep enjoying the experience. The French inspired food is excellent, the wine list by the glass is of high quality and the serving staff is friendly and accommodating. John the manager is a pleasure to deal with.
Great time. Food was incredible. Try anything with duck. Also the chicken stuffed with ham and Roquefort. Pecan tart was excellent. as was the service.
It is noisy and maybe too casual for some occasions but a really great find.
Food and service was great. We opted to sit outside as there was a large party inside. Noise level was significant from that group. However, we had a very pleasant experience, the owner talked to us twice, and we had no complaints. The cost was very reasonable for a brunch on LI!
Plus a birthday celebration
It our favorite restaurant because is consistently great with an extremely professional well trained staff.
Go
We love Cassis. It is our neighborhood favorite restaurant. The staff which includes the bartenders, waiters and manager John are so attentive. We love Roberto and Chino the bartenders.
Escargot appetizer tasty but quite small
Mussels and duck tasty
Service OK
Ambience fair but not reminiscent of Parisian cafe
Wine “special” not special at all
It's a favorite standby..... central meeting point for friends in different Island locals. All around great menu for different palettes and budgets without breaking the bank, pleasant atmosphere although I will say noisy, and generally pretty good and always courteous service. Somehow I can always get a reservation a day or two before even on a weekend or a busy night and yet it always seems bustling.
