   We have been going to Currents for many specially before the Symphony. The food, ambiance and maitre de have been going down hill. Our reception by the maitre de was discouraging, he was on the edge of rude, our table was near his station and even when done with the meal he would leave dirty dishes on the table. We had to ask for bread which in the past was never a problem. The food was adequate but nothing special. The service staff seemed very thin, not enough waitresses. They divide the service between different people so the servers don't know what you ordered. The prices are not cheap yet not unreasonable but it should be better service and care in preparing.

   We were a party of 4 and we had dinner here before a 7:30 p.m. symphony concert. We all chose from the special symphony menu which includes an appetizer or salad, entree and dessert. We all enjoyed our meals (prime rib, chicken and baked cod); the service was very efficient.

   We were there for dinner prior to the Three Irish Tenors concert at Symphony Hall - it is very convenient just a short walk from the hotel to symphony hall . They validated our parking. It was nice to see them patrolling the parking garage. Clearly, they take guest safety very seriously which is important to me as a female. All the staff were very friendly, courteous and professional. The food at Currents was great and we got out in plenty of time to make the show on time. We will definitely be back.

   Only two other tables when we arrived. More than five minutes before our order was taken. Then 35 minutes for the food to show up. We were told a bartender called in sick, but that should have had no impact on the kichen!

   We dined here before attending a concert at the Springfield Symphony; Currents has a special 3 course meal available for symphony-goers and it was very good; includes an appetizer, entree and dessert for $26.99. The salmon was delicious as was the prime rib. While there have been issues in the past with service, there was very attentive service and the meal was served in a very timely manner so that we were not rushed to get to the concert on time which had been a problem before; obviously management has addressed that issue so we look forward to going back.

   Currents is our go-to place before concerts and performances at Springfield Symphony Hall. The food is always great. Portions are just big enough so that you don't have to lug any leftovers to the concert. Best of all they have a terrific three-course Symphony menu that has something for everyone. The servers are just lovely and we always feel well taken care of. This is a Marriott hotel restaurant with the feel of a neighborhood place. There is also a small bar area with an interesting bar menu for a quick bit before the show too. (I recommend the tuna tacos if you sit there.)

   We went on symphony night so the restaurant was busy. We had the symphony specials, my wife had the salmon and I had the prime rib. She said the salmon was tasteless. It was moist but lacking. My prime rib was more well done than I like and a bit too much grizzle and fat. The chocolate cake dessert was excellent as were the rolls.

    My wife & I have been going to Currents (or its predecessor) for several years. Typically for birthdays or anniversaries. We have always been impressed by the quality of the food, and the service received. Excellent food, great service and a nice setting make for a nice evening. Using the Entertainment Book discount has always been a plus - but since we travel ~ 50 miles to go to Currents, that's a wash.
