Don Michele is a family-run italian restaurant that delights in providing every guest with an authentic Italian dining experience. We are proud to offer a varied menu of freshly prepared dishes that will tempt all palates from fish to pizza and meat to pasta.
Ideally situated in the centre/west end of Dundee we offer in a warm, home-like Italian atmosphere where all are welcomed as family and friends.

I want to love Don Michelle. I came away liking it. There were hits and misses. First the hits: A warm welcome from the one main waiter. He’s cool. And, he’s waiting on the entire restaurant. Not so cool. A Friday night at 7:30. Place was packed. Lots on minions running around, not paying attention to the tables as they frantically walked by serving stuff. Guy next to me had to ask at least twice for a glass of water. Finally got one over 10 minutes later. Not cool. I digressed. Back to the hits. I was offered a premium glass of wine for 9.50. House wine 8.95, I think. It was superb. Primitivo. Starter: Mussels with white wine. Superb. Tender, the sauce was intoxicating. Drank it all like it was nectar. A few small pieces of toasted bread. Not great. More bread please and get some higher quality bread. Tasteless, bland. I wouldn’t feed that stuff to the wood pigeons in my front garden. Please get some real Italian bread, not some low end stuff from Tesco. More hits? Not really. Main course: Penne Arabiatta. They served it up, after a long, long wait. Hey I get it, the place was busy and I can’t imagine the kitchen back there is very big. Not a big portion. Plenty of room left in the large bowl. Not piping hot either. Warm at best. The presentation was weak. No greens with it. No offer of grated parmesan. No offer of ground pepper. A couple of misses there. Did it taste good? Yep. It was fairly delicious and very spicy—that’s good for me. No bread and butter offered to the table. So, I’m sitting there with a bowl of pasta. Lonely. I asked for some bread. I got more of the same dull boring stuff served up with the mussels. Honestly, I’ve been to hundreds of Italian restaurants—-most had decent bread. Not a big ask here. Please get some decent bread. Serve up a basket to anyone ordering an entree. Provide some butter and olive oil. I’ll be back hoping some of the finer points here are addressed.

Delicious food, as always. Attentive and friendly staff. We’ve been patrons of Don Michele for over 20 years. The new location lacks some of the atmosphere of the original restaurant in Perth Road, but the food is just the best!

The staff are friendly and it is a nice restaurant. Unfortunately we waited for over an hour for one starter which we were sharing. We heard via another table it was because there was a table of 12 and the kitchen was too busy. I'm not a fussy person but no one came over to say anything when we were waiting, it was only when my friend caught a waiter's attention that he apologised and said it was coming soon. I ordered the prawn penne and the prawns were small- not great for over £20 for the dish. The staff are very friendly and it is a pleasant place to go but I was a bit disappointed.

Fantastic as always, servers, food, everything. Tables a bit close to each other and a bit noisy but once you have had a glass of wine and settled into your evening you didn't notice. Thank you team. Don M.

The service wasn’t great at all if I’m honest. We sat for an hour before our food arrived. We had to call and ask for more drinks rather than staff coming to ask and we had pretty much finished our food when the waiter came to ask if everything was ok with our food. The food was lovely but I wouldn’t rush back. Was not impressed with the service. The male manager was lovely and funny though.
