Eigikutei is a Japanese cuisine, sushi, and Shabu Shabu Kaiseki restaurant in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. We have a bar and offer high-end Japanese sake.
Eigikutei serves Japanese Kaiseki cuisine courses. Each Kaiseki course expresses the traditional Japanese culture and simple but deep tastes that Japan has grown from time immemorial. We hope all of our guests can enjoy our Kaiseki cuisine with Japanese cultural experiences.

    For high-end shabu-shabu or sukiyaki, this is my new go-to place. The price is the same as Kagaya (now Tensho) but I think the meat is better quality. I also think the appetizers are more refined and the sashimi is excellent. The space is quite large, so it doesn't have the same energy as Tensho. But it's easy to get a reservation. Don't hesitate to try it!

    Fantastic omakase dinner. It was our first time and we will be back. Many specialty fish selections from Japan, subtle and distinctive flavors and beautiful presentations.

    Great place to eat for a nice date night out with your significant other and just to grab a quality bite to eat. We dined in for sukiyaki since we haven’t found a place that gives flavor like it was in Japan. this was the only place that was close to the flavors the Wagyu sukiyaki was great ! They cook the hotpot for you and everything tasted great. Kid wise they do offer high chairs, but if your kid is fussy just keep in mind the dining experience is veryyyy quiet in the restaurant and there are no changing stations just incase you would need one.

    I came with a group of 4 for the Dine LA meal. 2 Omakase Sushi sets, 1 Sukiyaki, 1 Shabu Shabu. All our meals came out at different times and at 1 point, 3 of us were watching the 1 person basically finish their whole meal. The value unfortunately was not there as I do feel like I can get the same if not better quality sushi at Sugarfish and the verdict on the sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu is that it lacked seasoning/flavor.

    I've visited this restaurant four times now, and the experience has consistently been great. The food and service quality are excellent, and the staff is incredibly accommodating. When one of us mentioned not eating raw fish, they prepared several complimentary cooked dishes to ensure we left satisfied. While I have noticed that portion sizes seem slightly smaller than before, I still left feeling full. The kaiseki and shabu are must-tries, and I am already looking forward to returning for their sukiyaki.

    I came here for the $55 Dine LA omakase. I think $55 is a very reasonable and affordable price for an omakase experience, so I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant. I actually think the idea of Dine LA is great because it allows people to experience different restaurants and enjoy a nice dining experience at a more accessible price point. The sushi itself was good, but I left feeling slightly disappointed with the overall experience. My friend was running late, and I completely understand that this was partly our fault and may have caused some inconvenience for the restaurant. However, when the chef started serving my sushi first, I was a little surprised that he didn’t first ask or confirm which set menu I would be having before starting the progression. Because my friend was late, one of his sushi pieces was also missed, and I had to point it out to the chef. I also understand that omakase is a set experience and that certain fish may not be available or that adding additional pieces may not always be possible. At the end of the meal, the chef did ask how everything was, which I appreciated. I was also in a bit of a rush to leave, so I simply said that everything was delicious and thanked him. And it was delicious—I genuinely enjoyed the sushi. I think some of our behavior may have been different from what is traditionally expected in a Japanese omakase setting, especially when it comes to punctuality and the structure of the meal, and I completely understand that. At the same time, since this is a Dine LA experience in Los Angeles, I was hoping for a little more flexibility and hospitality toward guests. For $55, I think the food is a fair value. It was more the overall experience and service that didn’t quite meet my expectations. Nothing was terrible, and I don’t regret trying it, but I just left feeling that the experience could have been a little more welcoming and attentive.

    I wanted to share my thoughts on the restaurant we visited during Dine LA week. Overall, I would rate the experience an 8/10. The restaurant was spacious and clean, with an authentic Japanese atmosphere. For the food, we tried all three options from the Dine LA menu. The Omakase sushi and A5 Wagyu Sukiyaki were the highlights. While the beef shabu was good, the first two options were better in terms of both taste and value.
