Absolutely terrible experience on this visit. We used to travel extra to go to this location, but there seems to have been many changes and a major staff turnover and we won't be going back. The whole vibe was off. It used to be a bright, bustling place, but it was dark and more than half empty. Service was still slow, though, despite the lack of customers. You used to be greeted with a big bowl of chips as soon as you sat down. This time, we had to wait until a server finally came by so we could request them, and when they did come they were in a significantly smaller portion, which he was in no rush to refill. We put in our order, only to be told some time after that they were sold out of one of the items (again, mid dinner shift, slow weekday night.) my wife asked for a minute to reconsider her order; the server disappeared for almost ten. On previous visits the manager has always been a very visible presence on the floor, checking how everyone's meals is going and making sure everything is running smoothly. This night, we saw no sign of the dude until the very end. It had not been a good night up to then, but the worst was when the check came. We had asked for some extra tortillas when the original four had been consumed. We've done this here before and there's never been a charge or an issue, but now they're charging $2 for 4 tortillas. Mind you, these are not fresh, handmade tortillas. These are factory made, the sort you can by in a bag of 30 or so for $2 retail. If we had been told of the charge in advance, we wouldn't have ordered them, but they tried to slide it by us. When we complained to the server, the manger finally turned up. He insisted that had always been the policy, and tried variously suggesting that we were too dumb to notice that, or we were lying about not paying, or that we were in cahoots with servers who were cheating the company by giving them to us free (and could we give him their names). We left with an awful taste in our mouths.

El Torito is always a great place to go for dinner or especially brunch on Sundays. Lots of food options to choose from. The service is a hit or miss. This time we went, we had Jorge. He was amazing! Very positive and attentive. I’ve seen him around in this restaurant a few times and he’s always happy. I’ve never had him as a server until my last visit, and I’m so glad we got him! I’d request him every time if I could!

When we checked in for our 11:45 reservation on Mother’s Day we were told they were running 15-20 minutes behind, not a big surprise since it’s Mother’s Day and even on a regular Sunday, El Torito is busy, unfortunately it ended up being 60 minutes until we were seated! IInside it looked as though they had over booked, the tables nearly collided with the buffet, my mother is in a wheelchair and it was difficult to get her to the table. I felt bad for older guests with canes and walkers trying to navigate the nonstop flow of people. There were several times I waited in line for food only to see everything was empty. That being said, everyone working there was in hustle mode to restock food and take care of guests. I was impressed watching the waitstaff weave through the crowds with giant hot cast iron pans and never bump into anyone or drop anything, they must have heat proof hands!! If it isn’t been for the hour wait beyond our reservation time my review would be much higher, the food was good, sometimes it just took a few trips to get what I wanted. It was noisy but that is to be expected.

We had a lovely brunch on Sunday and enjoyed the music and food!! We were a party of 7 and had a big table and they also gifted us with pancakes. Awesome experience

Tacos and omelets were very tasty, food on the buffet line was fresh and replenished often. Our server Daizy was attentive and very nice. We will visit for Sunday brunch again.

I recently went on march 9th and got two adult brunches which include, bottomless mimosas and complimentary pancakes but our server didn’t ask us anything or mention anything and didn’t mention anything because it’s HER job to say something. While other of her tables were served with mimosas and those pancakes.
