ELEM restaurant and cocktail lab is located on Main + 5th.

Guests can expect to indulge in Top Chef Canada alum Mayekar’s bold cooking, featuring creative flavour-packed dishes that highlight the unique spices from cuisines around the world with local ingredients, alongside Winnie Sun’s inventive, element-inspired and sustainability-driven cocktails.

ELEM’s food menu is an exploration of flavours and spices from all corners of the world, including Bangkok, California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai – all inspired by Mayekar’s extensive travels and Indian heritage. There will also be a big focus on local BC-grown ingredients.

The 2,946 square foot, 76-seat space was designed by Vancouver-based Marko Simcich Architect and features three dining spaces and an open window into the kitchen to see the chefs at work.

My husband and I both agree, the best restaurant in Canada. The chef’s tasting voyage was so creative, each plate continually surprising us with perfect pairings from the som. Service was engaging and their friendly interactions made the experience even better. We can’t wait to go back.

One of my favourite meals ever. We had the tasting menu with drink flights and everything was perfect. The attention to detail was wonderful and the serving staff and sommelier were all highly knowledgeable and friendly.

Amazing food and service. Desserts were not as satisfying as every other course. Maybe they can use a pastry chef for that part.

Believe the hype! Completely faultless, from the professional yet warm welcome through to the staffs passion and knowledge about the provenance of the food. Food was exactly as hoped, and the sommelier really stood out.

We went to Elem for the first time last night for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The restaurant was busy and had such a great energy, but somehow never felt too loud or overwhelming. The atmosphere was so good that we honestly wanted to stay for hours longer. The service was amazing — really attentive, friendly and well-timed without ever feeling like too much. We ordered a bunch of different dishes so we could try as much as possible, and everything was incredible. There was so much variety in the flavours, with really interesting and unexpected combinations, and every dish felt thoughtful and different. The portions were great too, especially for the quality and price. The cocktails and mocktails were another highlight. They were creative, fun, beautifully done and actually tasted amazing rather than just looking interesting. Such a great first experience at Elem. Incredible food, great value, lovely service and one of those restaurants where the whole atmosphere just makes you want to settle in and stay all night. We’ll definitely be back.

The meal was absolutley incredible. Chef Vish's tomato menu delivered on all fronts. Big shout out to his team in the kitchen. The resturant is such a cool space and the front of house team is so dialed in. 10/10!
