Epocha Restaurant
Top-Etiketten:
We went for the Sustain two-course meals (initially planned for three-courses but were too full to have the dessert), the service is fantastic, and the food is delicious! We love the beef tartare and tuna crudo. We also enjoyed the cocktails specially made by the staff!
As always great food and service by the team at Elyros.
Following Angie's advice, I surrendered to Epocha and had a really excellent five-course meal. Guy was a very attentive host and sommelier, and the wine pairings were really on point. I think the first dish — some kind of puree with something related to almonds — really stole the show, with a really interesting texture. That said, everything was great.
The ambiance of this place is really something.
Strongly recommend (I've already convinced a few people in my office to swing by soon!)
Food service outstanding. Should have at least two hats. Our favourite restaurant in Melbourne. Xx
Staff are so attentive but not hovering. The food is always exquisite and fresh. The staff’s knowledge on food and wine is extensive and appreciated. And their coffee is THE BEST! Am never disappointed in all the times I’ve been
Absolutely delightful. Thoughtfully prepared, presented and delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Just love this place. Has never ever disappointed from the greeting at the door to the goodbye, nothing to be improved.
Our first visit to Epocha. Service was excellent, starters and main courses were great, bur desserts just didn't quite get there for a top restaurant. Nevertheless, we will be back.
Excellent food. Ambience could be improved with more warmth. But overall a lovely experience.
Needed more dessert options and wine by the glass was expensive and selection was not great.
Seriously one of my favourite places ever. Amazing food and wines. The service is incredible and the space is grand!
Had the Sunday lunch - was the best - food/value for money - delish!
Epocha's food is as good as ever - the ingredients reflect the seasons, and the cookery reflect the chef's thoughtfulness. Fantastic!
We had our first experience of Epocha last Sunday and loved the set menu approach. Firstly, the five-course Sunday roast provided a wonderful range of flavours and because it is a set menu on the day allows Epocha to keep the costs lower to provide best value for money. Service was warm and personal without being overbearing and the lovely terrace house setting is just perfect.
Sunday roast with all the trimmings and lovely service, as always. Can't wait to come back!
Consistently excellent in service, atmosphere and a food quality. Adorable venue, lovely owner and staff members. Sensational and engaging in every visit. They’ve been around for 7 years and it’s easy to see why!
We had a wonderful night Saturday 14 September ... amazing food, wine, fortunate to meet the chef who was gorgeous, told us working history and even gave away a couple of his recipes! Not really ... just helped us out with our decipher of the salad dressing ingredients ... we were delighted.
Angela the Maitre d was a great wealth of information, meticulous with our service. Cannot praise our experience highly enough.
We will return!

5 course degustation with matching wine was perfect
Great service
Very nice Victorian style terrace with simple and elegant decoration. Our five course meal was delicate, well balanced and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and attentive.
Everything about Epocha is a delight. Situated in a lovely Victorian terrace, the interior has the ambience of that style. Service was friendly and impeccable but not intrusive. Food was really great and the wine list - which focuses on wines of the world - was amazing! It’s a quality establishment all round and you’d expect to pay for that experience. However we felt the cost was well worth it and recommend Epocha unreservedly. Enjoy!
Would definitely go there again. We went fathers days with a set menu, would be keen to explore their other menu's
An elegant, rustically chic interior that nods to history with a subtle blush of Melbourne understated cool. Minimal ambient noise and a mix of good music at the right level made for easy conversation. We loved the attentive, timely, and pleasant service across five exquisite courses of seafood, vegetables and dessert. The chef delivered sumptuous joy with every course and sommelier complimented, consulting and matching perfect recommendations our meal and tastes. Most definitely, our new ‘fave’. 5 Stars.
Wonderful as always. This is truly a Melbourne treasure.
Repeated visits and will continue to do so. Great location, good ambiance
The experience was brilliant. We had been only once before some time ago. Yet Angie remembered us, we felt the customer service was absolutely brilliant also g with the excellent roast. Differently will go again. Thank you Epocha
Anniversary Dinner
Overall a nice location for catch with friends for a Sunday roast. Now specifically:
The good: the service, the procession of the food, timely, a few nice surprises. The entree of roasted cauliflower and the carrots were both delicious, and I liked that you served them before the main course.
The not so good: the roast beef was too rare, which made it tough. Tough to cut, messy (bloody) to eat and it went cold quickly. Overall though, a very nice place and I would return to sample the usual menu.
Good food, good wines, limited menu but very well prepared and presented. Very attentive service. Within the limited menu you nevertheless are offered fish, poultry, red meat and vegetarian / vegan.
You can have A la Carte or Tasting menu.
We had a wonderful night at Epocha. The food was delicious, the wines amazing and the service was spot on. We will be bringing people back with us next time!
Beautiful food, highly recommend the ‘surrender’ 7 courses
Everything was excellent except one disappointment. We had a good food gift voucher that we wanted to use but was not allowed becoz we had a discount with our entertainment card. I don’t see what the issue was as the gift voucher wasn’t a discount card.
The food is equal to the best Melbourne has to offer. The ambiance, decor and service are superior
Food is properly done but not exciting. Table area was too dark. Service was good but a bit too personal (waitress touching diners).
This was simply put a warm, engaging food experience. We decided to take the surrender option and we where looked after amazingly. The food was great, service was exceptional, the mood from the staff was warm, friendly, engaging, but not intrusive. The wine parings where excellent.
I would recommend this restaurant and will go again.
Had a wonderful Sunday Roast lunch at Epocha with friends. The restaurant was packed, and continuing to deliver the high quality and innovative food, wine selections, and service that are part of their dna (and have consistently done for the past 7 years). It’s always a pleasure to have a delicious meal in a relaxed environment delivered by hospitality professionals.
Great food and service. Would love to come back again.
Epocha turned out to be a major disappointment. A limited menu, overpriced, poor service and a comprehensive but expensive wine list. We opted for 2 courses for $65.00. Only four options in each course. Choosing the beef , and after waiting a considerable amount of time, we were presented with a piece of chewy, grisly steak pre sliced. This was accompanied by a little sauce. The sides, which were an extra charge, arrived quite some time after the beef, and only after two requests . We were presented with two small, sliced rolls which were delicious but inadequate for four diners. Choosing lemon tart for dessert, we thought we couldn’t go wrong. A tiny tart arrived with pastry so hard it was difficult to cut through. It was accompanied by a meringue the size of a five cent coin. Twice during the evening my sparkling water was topped up with still water even though I pointed out both times it was sparkling. I wasn’t offered a fresh glass either time. We had to request our table be cleared after quite some time.
My partner and I shared our first anniversary dinner at Epocha with the 5 course Surrender and wine pairings and would happily dine here again. We were very well looked after by the attentive and cordial servers, with co-owner Angie Giannakodakis painting an interpretive picture for each course that made for a diverse culinary journey. The food was beautifully prepared and wine expertly matched, championing local Australian wines with their modern European style cuisine. Upon booking, as prompted I let the restaurant know we were celebrating our anniversary, dessert arrived with a happy anniversary message much to my partner's delight. Overall, a high-quality fine dining experience with great atmosphere at a fair price.
We had a beautiful evening with wonderful exceptional food. Ang and the team have yet again have taken the menu to another level. Compliments to the chef and the team .Great date date.
Amazing venue, incredible food and service well what can I say, outstanding.
Thank you for an incredible evening enjoyed by everyone.
