Everything was okay, the only reason I gave 4 stars is really the lounge coaches. It is really doesn’t go with the whole going out vibe. It feels like I just set up table in my living room. For couples with kids like myself, going out and having cocktails and dinner was a big deal. We don’t get to do that often.
Great food, good service. Enjoyed our meal. Enjoyed our time there
A wonderful discovery of food excellence in DC. Comfortable, great service and location - all contributed to a fantastic experience!
I love Fig and Olive and bring clients there frequently. This time two of us had the mushroom rigatoni which tasted good but we both got sick shortly after lunch . It was quite disappointing. Something might be up with the cleanliness of this establishment.
Spectacular food and drinks overlooking Palmer alley
A first time visitor to Fig and Olive. I was thrilled to take clients to this restaurant and have the evening exceed all expectations. From a yummy meal to Dave our server to a visit by the General Manager to our table, the evening was a wonderful success. Many thanks.
Delicious, a quick lunch with high school friends, I needed a spot near the Washington Design Center and Fig and Ilive was very convenient!
My dining partners dish was over salted. Mine was good. Would give it a try again.
Service was very slow for a business lunch. We ordered coffee at the end of our meal and it took at least 10 minutes to get it. We were told they made the coffee up stairs and he was waiting for it to come down.
We had a terrific brunch. Great ambiance and great people watching.
Jazmin and Janelle were stellar!!! Sophia was so accommodating when an old friend bumped into me and wanted to join me at the table! Pulled up a chair for us right away! Andres allowed my guest to be seated while I was running a tad late. Now the new kale & quinoa salad is DIVINE!!!!! I love their salads but this is definitely going in on my weekly rotation of salads from different restaurants. I hope they keep it on the menu!!! You would think the steak isn’t going to be enough with the home fries and eggs by the presentation but boy was it filling!! Very nice welcoming environment! Thank you for the suggestions ladies and the managers Sophia and Andres are divine! Ask for either one next time you dine! Even the GM is an absolute delight as well!!
Brunch at Fig & Olive is very pleasant. They were a bit disorganized, but very pleasant. The food is all good, and the blood organge mimosa delicious. I can recommend the potato-leek soup and the French omelet. There are many very good brunch options in Washington, and this is one of the better ones.
The service was terrible and wasn’t good. But food was good and fast.
Disappointed as I expected better food. Wine was good. Service good. Variety of tasting bits was interesting but not tasty. Beef tartare had sinewy. Mushroom risotto was dry and tasteless. Expensive and did not deliver quality food.
The server was very rude and impatient with our small group of friends. When asked for a pasta suggestion, she would sign, roll her eyes, and then just give a bland answer. She did not give us any time to catch our breaths and figure out what we would like to eat, and rushed us to place our orders. Even after we placed our orders, she kept interrupting and disrupting our conversations. Food was very average and service was very very poor. This is the second time with the worst service, therefore not coming back again and wasting my money.
Really good food and supreme location, but wait staff left some be desired. Lady was sarcastic with my parents and had some attitude when speaking more down to us then assisting us.
We went for brunch. The burrata and squash was the highlight of my day. Super delicious and not a combination I’ve tasted anywhere before! We also tried the signature crostini (Forrest mushrooms, burrata, goat cheese and caramelized onions). The French toast was so fluffy and not overwhelmingly sweet.
Always outstanding! F&O is my go to when treating out of town Friends because the food and service is always excellent.
Besides having a pretty atmosphere, they always have good food. Highly recommend the mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice
Good experience but food was not that great and overpriced
Amazing ambiance. Appetizers were great, desert was also amazing. Wash’s crazy about my entree, but overall great restaurant for any occasion.
If you don't want to dine in lounge type furniture, say so ahead of time. Food was good, but not worth the prices. Drink service was painfully slow.
I’ll definitely be going back. The burrata with tomato and watermelon was divine!!
Birthday great service!
Outstanding food and service as usual!
Good food and great preparation. We had the sampler appetizer and then moved on to salmon and a beef dish foe dinner. With a couple drinks we ended up around $200 for the evening.
Party of five. The restaurant is modern, beautiful and trendy. The service was impeccable. The food was good, but not unlike any other contemporary restaurant. We ordered the cheese board (good, but not outstanding -- one option was ricotta, an every day cheese) and iberico ham (good), squid ink paella, salmon, seafood salad and short ribs. It's billed as mediterrean but it's subtle, more like new age/contemporary American. It's a gorgeous restaurant. I wish it had more character and the food more depth. Entrees are close to $40 per person. Portions are moderate. Dessert options, however, are outstanding.
Delicious food, professional and friendly service and great atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. I will be back.
We’ve enjoyed Fif & Olive before, for the food service and ambience. Only the service was strong this time. We were seated way in the back upstairs, though the restaurant was not busy at all. Almost all of the tables were empty. I ordered the chicken which did not correspond to what the menu described (different ingredients) and was quite rubbery. Hamachi crudo was good as always. Service was great though.
Very inventive and varied menu; good friendly service
Excellent service varied menu, delicious entrees. A must try for all.
Got the meet friends for a gathering before a conference! Love love love Fig & Olive in NYC, so was so excited to see how n in DC! Waiter was like talking with a wall! 3 ladies getting together to have fun and $ wasn’t an issue! Drink glasses would be empty, had to keep asking for menu, and drinks! Finally left after spending $350. Went to Del Friscos and spent more money and had a blast!
I ate there twice in two days it was so good! When I return to D.C. next month, I plan to eat there again.
Everything was terrific! Great spot for lunch! Nice menu, great ambiance
Food was good but extremely expensive. Staff was very accommodating. I had one drink, my husband two and we had appetizers only and we spent over $120. There were only two scallops in the scallop appetizer.
My steak fries were cold otherwise perfect dining experience
Grest ambiance and food
Service was nice
The DJ was a pleasant surprise at first but he played the same New Age/soft jazz music the whole time we were there. I would have enjoyed some variety
