The food was disappointing for what it’s worth. Never seen poached egg gone wrong that bad. The service was also very slow. Didn’t think the staff were attentive. They mixed up my tea order. It took 20min to get the tea in the first place. Didn’t bother to even mention it. The ambience is nice. I would come back for drinks perhaps but never for the food.
Perfection in every category!
Crostinis were excellent, as well as the cheese board. Fish, chicken, and lamb were enjoyed by all for dinner. Desserts to follow were a sweet ending.
Graduation dinner staff was wonderful!!! Brought over a gift for the graduate and dessert for the table
I've been to the NY locations multiple times - this one did not live up to the standards. Was constantly asking the waiter 2/3 times to bring us something they forgot. Inattentive. Not that nice, either.
Wonderful food, great space. Live music (we were there later on a Friday evening). Service is spectacular. Music was groovin'. All-in-all, a very good date night experience. Only downsides is that the prices aren't cheap, and it can be a little noisy (we didn't mind, but if you are there for an intimate conversation, might want to ask to be seated at a distance from the DJ).
Love this place! Wonderful food!
This was my second visit... first time everything could not have been better. Food was delicious everything had a unique flavor perfectly prepared as well displayed. Second time for the most part my experience were the same except for my filet mignon. It was overcooked and very chewy. I then substituted for the lamb chops which were perfectly prepared. Note, the bartender named London in my opinion is a mixologist... she made us a number of different mixed drinks that was absolutely great.
Very nice spot for lunch --- nice salads like the salad I had with slices of chicken - and other entrees for about $21 (not including drinks), plus excellent bread with olive oil.
Glad we made reservations via Open Table as it is a popular restaurant! Janelle was our waitress and was wonderful. Food was delicious !
Polite and energetic staff. Waiter a little disorganized. Wine/starter/bread slow to show and inappropriately timed. Wait between deliveries seemed incredibly long for the customer volume. Octopus and short ribs were well prepared. Bread slightly stale.
Overall good experience, it was busy so we had to pull another server for more drinks but it could have just been the volume of people. Would come back again.
Love this place! Great happy hour - great location - great service - great vibe!
Food was great with a very creative menu. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Hostess (Laurel) was outstanding--friendly and very helpful. Made us feel very welcome and special.
It took over 30 minutes to place a drink order and 1 hr 25 minutes to be able to order. Ridiculous. No apologies from the unfriendly waitress.
More of a bar than a restaurant. Front of house staff and manager could do with refresher training on customer service, but our server (once aware we had been seated) was great.
Had lunch with a friend here -- comfortable (although unusual!) seating. Conversation was easy -- this was a big plus for us. We will be back!
We went for Mother’s Day and the service definitely leaves something to be desired but the food is great
It was a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch!! Thank you!!
Best Mother’s Day brunch ever! Delicious menu selections, fantastic festive beverages, terrific service! We look forward to next year.
Great waiter. He explained everything. He was very helpful and wanted us to enjoy our time with them. Great food
We had a great mother’s day dinner! Great food and service! I’ll be back for sure!
This was finally a restaurant in D.C. that I would want to go back to. Very unusual tastes, like none I've had before, which is amazing as I eat out a lot. The atmosphere and service was great. The maitre d was great and paid attention to everything that was going on as well. It is a little on the expensive side so I would reserve this for special occasions in the future.
we could not have been more pleased and the service was fabulous
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. Dessert menu leaves a little to be desired but overall a really nice place to brunch
The place was busy for Saturday brunch and no surprise. It is a pretty restaurant with a nice outdoor seating section that abuts the City Center fountains. But not so happy with the service...it was rushed, rude, and I had to ask 3 times for a second glass of wine. Maybe just having a bad day but it affected the whole party.
Love the Fig & Olive chains. I think DC is my favorite. Loved our waiter. Food was phenomenal and the ambiance was wonderful. Restaurant is huge but not overly noisy. Even my 6 & 10 year old kids loved it.
Graduation celebration, and the wait staff took great care of us and offered a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate!
The food was delicious and the service divine! The cheesecake was fabulous and made me want to come back the next day for another serving.
This is a very hip sister of the LA original, located on an extremely high-end promenade. My server, Janelle, was terrific, and the manager came to the table to make sure everything was OK. In fact, the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I just wish the food was as good as the ambiance and the service. I had an excellent quinoa salad, but the Moroccan chicken was just OK. It was rather dry and pretty bland. I had expected moist and very flavorful. All in, with the tip and wine, my meal cost over $80. I'm not naive about the cost of upscale dining in a big city; after all, I live in LA. But, for $80, I'd expected a great meal as well as a great experience.
Excellent and interesting cuisine beautifully presented. Wonderful service as well and the outside tables add to the ambiance with the added fun of people-watching. Interesting cocktails and a knowledgeable staff able to provide details about the food and appropriate wine pairings. Truly an amazing chef!
It was fine. Way overpriced for an utterly unremarkable quinoa salad and just ok pasta. The appetizers were better than the main. The table next to us was a group of people who’d had too much to drink, broke several glasses and left a wet mark on the couch we were sharing. Discouraging to see the restaurant sat another unsuspecting couple on the same seat despite it still being wet. Would not go back on my own means nor would recommend the place.
Food was decent, but service was really poor, very slow. May have just been short staffed, but it was frustrating.
Our waiter was not trained well and was too new to be waiting on tables alone. Very disappointing for F&G.
Great experience at Fig and Olive. Crostini were terrific particulary the burrata with tomato and pesto. We did not care for the croquettes nearly as much as everything else we ordered. We very much enjoyed the cocktails we ordered. Stephanie is a gem- a very attentive and lovely server and we will ask for her again. Looking forward to hosting an event at Fig and Olive in June and to coming again with just one or two others. Great restuarant!
Really enjoyed this very hip restaurant with close proximity to Convention Center. Salads were fresh and had healthy choices. Great spot to meet friends for a drink!
The food and the place were great!
Ambiance is definitely nice, but the quality of the food is just plain bad. Ordered the chicken club and unfortunately the bread was stale, chicken was chewy, and truffle fries were soggy and too oily. Seems like a great place for drinks, but I would pass on ordering food again here if I decide to come back.
Fresh, original food in a pleasant space on a cool alley. I love it there but I was embarrassed taking no my gourmet friends. Waiters and reception need more training to do justice to this restauarant.
