Figo Wine Bar
We were a party of 7 and we’re out in the private room downstairs with another group. It’s one large communal table and they were celebrating an engagement. There was no music on and it made it very uncomfortable to be in a silent room with another group. Also we felt ignored by service. It was a full hour before bread was even put down on the table.
I live right down the block and haven’t been here yet. It was a great meal and surprisingly much more bustling than expected. I eat out often and haven’t heard much buzz about this restaurant which made tonights meal even more of a pleasant surprise!
Very hospitable. We had a two top that they easily changed to a 3 top when we had an unexpected add on guest. This restaurant is small and definitely is more of a date night 2 top feel so I would not recommend last minute add ons for this restaurant but it goes to show how accommodating they were.
Food was impressive. The endive salad was especially flavorful, both delicious and in season and perfect for the time of year. We also enjoyed the gnocchi, meatballs, arancini, and lamb chops. I think the lamp chops were slightly overcooked but forgivable for the size; still delicious in seasoning, flavor and presentation.
I’d definitely go back. Great date night atmosphere! Lively but not intrusive.
All of the food was so yummy especially the lamb chops.
Just went for a glass of wine, sat by the windows - great place.
We had a wonderful dinner and evening atFigo. We had made a reservation for 4 people but added two more people to our group and we were happily accommodated in the space downstairs. We will be back.
We had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. We ordered tapas style. There were four in my party so we all ordered something to share. Then we added a few more after we ate those. The wine was
great. The waitress was very attentive without being over bearing. I would definetely recommend this
Our server was very knowledgeable and made excellent personalized recommendations from the wine list. She made each person in our party of four a wine flight that was individualized to our tastes. The wine flight was expensive (~$18) but it was fun to try out lots of different wines.
The food was good- pasta was prepared in house and using fresh ingredients. However, they are priced for a regular meal portion but are definitely small plates in size.
We checked in on yelp and got a free appetizer of our choice which was a nice surprise!
Delicious food and great service. Very nice place.
First time trying. Meals are bigger than a usual wine bar, which is great! But tables are small and it was sorta hard to fit everything on the table and share the plates and we were told we needed to order everything at once, since they are busy. Did not love that "order". Some dishes were great. The highly recommended dish (fried aka chewy octopus) none of us liked! Hanger steak, gnocchi and pasta were delish. Wish all the food came out warmer. But overall people, ambiance and food were nice. Extra nice how close it was to the Vic as we had a show after dinner, so location was excellent! :)
Went here with a friend and we ordered the following: Arancini, Brussel Sprouts, Red Pepper/Goat Cheese Bruschetta, and Pasta Tagliatelle. Overall, I'll say that the food is decent (with the exception of the Arancini which were bland and not actually true Arancini) but I've had much better elsewhere. For the price you pay, I didn't feel it was worth going back to this place. Best thing we had was the bruschetta so if you go, that's what I'd recommend.
New and trendy wine bar, small plates great to share and food was very well presented and tasted great.
Bustling & busy
Bad table location near staircase and wait station
Constant wait staff traffic
Charming restaurant and wine bar. Delicious fresh burrata and tomato salad and branzino entree. This is much more than a wine bar. Give it a try if you are heading to the Vic Theatre - it is right down the street.
We had our pre-concert meet up, appetizers & wine. Mikey provided great recommendations on both the food selections & the Primitivo🍷
Went got Anniversary so we got glass of complimentary champagne when we arrived. Also received complimentary tiramisu for dessert. The crispy octopus was amazing and we loved the branzino.
Overall I would give this place around 7/10 stars. Most of the food we ordered was tasty and paired well with the wine we got. I have three complaints- one, we had to wait a long time for food and drinks. It’s not a very large place so the lack of speed with service was a bit confusing. Two, a couple of the food dishes seemed basic or just not worth the money (I’m talking the fish entree that came with what appeared to be a frozen carrot, pea and pepper mixture). Finally, when we first came they sat us downstairs in the party room- which was a weird room by the bathrooms that seemed odd for six of us. Plus, we wanted the upstairs ambiance, not a quiet room. We politely asked to be moved upstairs which was accommodated, but odd that we were placed downstairs to begin with. It was a pleasant evening, but def not adding to rotation.
Good food. Good service. Was very hard to hear due to noise level and overhead music.
Beautiful, delicious tapas and great service. And we weren't drinking any wine so it was super affordable. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Figo wine bar brought us cake and champagne to celebrate our friend’s new engagement! It was super special in addition to a great meal.
I went to Figo with two friends before an event we had. Our reservation was for 6pm, but by 7:45pm we had only received two out of the 5 dishes we ordered, and our waiter had barely been back to even check on drinks. The restaurant was cute, but I do think they needed an additional server. Ours was very personable and nice, but clear that he had too many tables!
A bit loud but overall great
Absolutely horrible service. Waited an hour for our food to come and was there a total of 2.5 hours it took so long. One waiter working for the whole place! Great food but not worth the wait.
Yes, go and enjoy. Full bar and Tapas (small plates). Cute place with good service and good drinks and small plates & offer outside seating. Yes, they have a “Happy Hour” – Monday- Thursday from 5-6:30 pm. Friday 4-6:30.
We shared several small plates: Oysters, we sharedtwelve delicious oysters for a starter. Then Lamb skewers, Meatballs, Shrimp Scampi in a delicate delicious garlic wine sauce and complimentary sourdough bread to enjoy the last of any sauces. Excellent service, great cocktails made for a very enjoyable evening.
Honestly I never give negative reviews but I think some constructive criticism is due here. The wine flight itself was amazing and well worth he price. That being said we waited about 15-20 minutes for it to be poured and delivered. We also ordered a met and cheese board, again the food was fantastic but it also took at least 20 minutes to be delivered. I have a hospitality background so I can completely understand being busy, but it was a matter of putting meat and cheese on a board, not cooking a meal. After that I asked if the fish could be cooked gluten free as I have celiac, I was told that the chef didn’t like to change his menu. I live very close to this spot and would be a nice place to dine at regularly because I loved the wine and ambiance but I left with a negative impression. I’d appreciate a call from management please.
Sitting outside was quite pleasant. We were not rushed to order, which we appreciated. We had three small plates and two large plats for two and took some food home. The food is fine--and altogether, it was a pleasant experience.
The staff worked together really well to make my surprise engagement dinner an event to remember always!
It was OUTSTANDING!!! Our sever, a professionally trained singer, sang at our table! The food was SOOO good! We'll be back sooner than later.
Nice atmosphere and great food
Found Figo on Yelp when searching for a restaurant in the area. Figo was running a free appetizer Yelp special, so that sealed the deal. Made a same-day reservation; was running late and was able to move back by 15 minutes easily. Thanks, OpenTable! :) Good service, well-balanced cocktails, and delicious food. Among our party of four, we ordered [drink] rosemary-infused gin and tonic, negroni, By the Fireplace, Penicillin and [food] arancini, charcuterie, gnocchi, tortellini. Although we weren't really in a hurry, we were able to get in and out quickly but never felt rushed. Hourly street parking was available on a Saturday night. Would love to return!
Not having a hostess stand when you walked in the door was odd. It was alright in the dining area so we sat at the counter against the glass wall. Overall good experience.
Really fun food, atmosphere, with excellent service.
Very cute place and very good food. Music was too loud inside. nice outdoor patio on a side street so not too busy. Give it a try,
Air conditioning was a little strong. I understand you want your staff to be comfortable. This place would benefit by installing doors that open to the sidewalk.
Overall, it was a cute environment.
Small plates, but everything was tasty. My friend who was raised Italian, said the food tasted authentic.
My only issue was that—the service was lack luster.
Good food good service and good value for money. Will deffo go back.
Wonderful spot! Sat on the patio, not too loud and great service. Happy with our visit and will definitely be back!
We came to Figo with family for dinner. The service was amazing, Dan was excellent. The food came out together which we appreciated because it is small plates we enjoyed trying a little of everything. Our favorites were HOT plates: dates, eggplant parmesan, shrimp scampi, and burrata and for PASTA: gnocchi Genovese and tagliatelle. I would recommend two plates per person.
This a very good go-to place when we want a bit of upscale dining in the neighborhood.
