Service was excellent, however when booking reservation was asked occasion we answered Birthday but no recognition was made.
We had to wait a bit for our table to be ready but the place was packed. Lower level was very loud but the 2nd floor was quieter. We sat upstairs and Amber was our server. She was great! Drinks were delicious and the food was fresh and very well prepared! The side salad that comes with breakfast entrees is awesome- dates, olives, almonds, well dressed, too! The beignets were light and the sauces that come with them make them worth coming back for.
We sat at the bar. Wonderful service better than the table. Benedict (crab) was awesome
GREAT FOOD! Very loud but worth going
The food was delicious, the server was funny and attentive.
Food was cold. Service was poor. Ended up comping entrees.
went above and beyond my expectations. food was amazing. currently eating my leftovers after they sat in my trunk for a day and a half and it’s still so good.
We were half finished with our meal before our drinks arrived. We were half finished with our meal before our drinks arrived.
Asked for booth, got a table instead. Otherwise great experience
We are dined at the location numerous times, perhaps 1 - 2 a month. Always a pleasant experience.
However, this visit was different.
While the food was delicious as always, waiter was pleasant.
The 2 male hosts at the door, receiving guest, were surprisely boarderline rude, far from a pleasant encounter.
It was an unpleasant first impression for my out of town guest.
My niece suggested we go here when i asked her for her favorite breakfast/brunch spot to hangout on my way out of DC. We are both foodies and I knew this would be a good meal. And it was! Our pan served cornbread with fresh corn and chicken and waffles were awesome. The recommended cocktail the wire something was also great but pricey. I would definitely go back and recommend to other. The ambiance and space was comtemporary, comfortable and inviting. Only issue is difficulty in booking prime time and it took us 30 minutes from the time walking into getting our meals.
Delicious and fast!
Late Mother’s Day
I ate at FF 3 times in 1 week....that should say it all.....
Everything was WONDERFUL from appetizers to dessert, if you’re thinking about going, do it. You won’t regret!
Great for graduation
The food and drink are really good. My husband and I both thought it was great and will go back. Fresh handmade food and drinks!!
The food and atmosphere was great. Also great service. The food is amazing that we went twice during our stay in Washington DC.
Our attendant we had was excellent, he was very attentive to our needs. I must say however, the ladies on the front desk did not display a high level of customer service. I realize there was a lot going on with a heavy lunch crown and folks coming in from George Washington University graduation ceremonies.
It was my niece’s birthday and they made it so special by putting candles in the beignets and writing happy birthday on the plate. Great times were had by all.
We were there to celebrate my niece’s college graduation. Xavier was a fabulous waiter and took good care of us amidst an extremely busy lunchtime crowd. Our food was as wonderful as we have come to expect at Founding Farmers. We started with our favorite fried green tomatoes. My salmon was perfect and delectable! Others in our group enjoyed the fried chicken salad, the Shrimp Louie salad and the grilled vegetable sandwich. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our graduation celebration lunch at Founding Farmers.
Always many people. Service is excellent and food is good. Makes me feel so “organic”. Would love to try it again soon!
We were in Washington DC on vacation and this restaurant was recommended by friends. We absolutely loved it!!! We loved it so much that we had breakfast and dinner there two days in a row. Amazing food. We tried multiple dishes and every dish was fantastic! We highly recommend it!!! Can’t wait to return to DC just to come eat at Founding Farmers again.
Our waiter Ethan was fantastic and very helpful on points of interest as my wife and I were visiting DC to take in the area. Price was top end but still good.
I went there for the first time with my family to celebrate my mother’s bday. I booked the reservation for 8:45 and we didnt get seated until almost 9:30 it was a very busy night for a Thursday. Other than waiting to get seated, the food was great. I think they’re kind of pricy because almost every plate is a minimum of $15-$20. Not that bad for 2 people but for a family it could be very expensive. Waiter was excellent. All employees greeted us with a smile. I will be returning.
Waiter was knowledgeable but inattentive. Food was not hot when it arrived. Not an awful experience, but not aces either.
Great. Did not rush us!
The only problem was that one of the group ordered a well-done burger and it came to the table medium rare...and then the well-done burger didn't get there until the rest of us were done eating
Everytime is great. Even breakfast.
A decent restaurant but there are definitely better options in DC. Founding Farmers is one of those places that you have to go to because of its reputation and how popular it is, but probably only once before you recognize that it is overhyped, overpriced, and not worth waiting for.
I am not a restaurant critic whatsoever but I believe this establishment
We had a reservation for 3 at 8:15 PM and waited until 9 PM to be seated. The entire lobby was filled with people complaining, which could have been easily mitigated by asking some of the customers to sit down in the corner of the lobby.
The booth we sat at was a little torn up and the seats did not feel clean nor did they look like they were taken care of. My significant other is also sensitive to gluten and so she asked nicely what the waiter would suggest she try. He said you have two options, thats pretty much it. It was rude.
One of my favorite DC restaurants! Food, drinks, and service are excellent.
I had a dining experience there this week where I felt I was invisible. I had to ask for a drink. Once I placed my order I had waited so long that I had to find a waiter to check to see if the order had been put in, when my food did come no one checked that I had a place-setting, which another diner got up to get for me. food had clearly been sitting around for a while because it was not hot. With all of The excellent dining choices in DC I may not come back to this restaurant again
Love this place. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The beignets are the best I've ever had.
First off did not realize that the lunch menu did not start until 11am, our reservation was for 10:45 because that was the latest I could get on this particular day. Overall the service was fine, but half of the meals came out and it was a good 5 plus minutes before the second half of the group received their meals. Also, running out of English muffins during the "breakfast" period when there several "benedict" options on the menu is not really acceptable.
Wonderfully prepared food - 2 of us had pasta dishes, mine was the goat cheese ravoli with chicken - excellent with some sweet potatoes, very creative and delightful surprise. My husband ordered the shrimp & grits...we are from FLA...partial to our shrimp for these were cooked to long, however the grits and sauce quite tasty!
Got seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time.
I eat her every time I'm in DC. This time I had the goat cheese and ravioli. Beyond amazing! You must try it.
