J.P. Fuji’s Group welcomes Fuji at Newton as its tenth location in the group’s portfolio. Fuji at Newton marvels a tranquil and calm ambience offering ultramodern, upscale Japanese cuisine.

This full-service location offers several dining options to new and returning patrons all over the metro-Boston area. This expansive space will showcase sit-down dining, a large bar and sushi bar. Accordion windows and two patios follow suit to truly tie in an indoor-outdoor balanced feel.

Fuji at Newton’s menu offers a large-scale offering of food options from refined makimonos, mouthwatering wok-tossed dishes and customary classics. A masterful mix of cocktails, wine and spirits partner in harmony with the selected menu. Omakasé offerings will be available, by reservation only, and curated by culinary master, Founder, and CEO Chef Jimmy Liang and Executive Head Chef Ming Cao.

We eat here frequently but always at the weekend. We ate at a Monday (yesterday) and had a different experience. My wife's bento box had teriyaki salmon in it but no sauce provided..we had to ask for that specially where it is usually automatically brought. I like to get the smoked salmon sashimi..but yesterday it was served warm which I thought was odd..usually it's very very chilled. I couldn't help but feel this had been left out in the room too long. I always get the unagi as well, but yesterday the backside was burnt...not just charred but out and out burnt with a burnt sour taste in the sauce and the fish. Clearly the sauce and the eel had been on the grill for far too long. The service overall was ok, but not as efficient or anticipatory as the crew at the weekend (checking drinks etc.). Next time I think we'll go back to only coming here Sat or Sun.

This is a great spot for creative cocktails, wonderful service, and great food to catch up with a friend over a meal. The Salt and Pepper Tofu is a crunchy must have, and every bite of sushi or roll we had was fantastic. Will have to go back again to try more of the extensive menu.

Everything was very good and enjoyable. Most importantly, our server, Mary, was excellent. Friendly, accommodating, efficient and responsive.

Delicious food, friendly accomodating staff, extras: sweet birthday dessert with candle and staff singing HB. Although the restaurant was lively (and to my ears, somewhat noisy) we were seated in an alcove with a lower ceiling that was much quieter - without having to make a request. Very happy with our evening!

I had a great experience at Fuji! The service was pretty fast, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely amazing—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The people at the front desk were also super friendly!Definitely a place I’d recommend

Amazing service and food! Everything is delicious from lettuce wraps, gyoza to the newton fried rice to best sushi!! We have had all kind of sushi rolls to nigiri and are always very pleased with the quality and freshness of food. They are constantly adding new drinks to the menu to suite the season. My favorite is Strawberry Paloma. The service is superb, Micaela is so sweet and super accommodating in helping us order. Highly recommended.

This is our 6th time at this location. Very rushed experience. Entrees attempted to be delivered when we were half done with apps. Hit entree was delivered cool after apps were finished. Server disappeared for extended periods of time. Cocktail not delivered. Food was fine but not as good as previous times. We went to celebrate a birthday, there was no mention of the celebration. Disappointing for the money spent.

Exceptional date night restaurant and one of our favorites. The food is always fresh, well seasoned and perfectly prepared. Our favorite appetizers are the chicken lettuce wraps and the gyoza. We also believe their sushi is one of the freshest in the city. For entrees, we love their wok tossed specialties and clay pot specialties. You can’t go wrong with anything they serve.
