   Outstanding experience at Jaleo. Food & service were both extraordinary. Thoroughly enjoyed the scallops, eggplant, and blue cheese & fruit pairing. Don’t skip dessert - the olive oil ice cream with grapefruit, in which the grapefruit stole the show, was an excellent end to a memorable meal. Every visit to DC should include a meal at Jaleo.

   I have an auto-immune disease and I had made a reservation for outdoor seating. I told the hostess this and was told I had to sit the bar or the tent despite my reservation. This was relatively early and there were plenty of seats in the outdoor area.. Over the years I and my husband and my larger family group have come to Jaleo’s because of the good food, the good service, and because the restaurant group supports the larger community when there are natural disasters etc. Therefore I was shocked that my health issues were not taken seriously.. I may return to Jaleo’s at some point but right now I am extremely upset.

   My favorite spot in DC to have dinner. The menu always has some of my favorites, croquettes and fennel & apple salad. I always venture out and try something new too, last night was the Canary Islands rabbit and it was incredible. Great wine list too.

    I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere until this meal. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. While some courses were good some were mediocre. The wait staff basically shoved food on the table when we asked if they could slow down a bit we were ignored. The waiter basically dumped off the food and pointed to the wine and said this “This wine is good with that food”. Very disappointing.
