   Jimoto is a true gem in Winnetka, and Kai's service elevates the entire experience to something extraordinary. Every time I visit, I'm reminded why this place stands out from the rest. Kai's attention to detail and genuine warmth make dining here feel less like a restaurant visit and more like being welcomed into someone's home. Their consistent excellence in service - always attentive without being intrusive - shows a real understanding of what great hospitality means. What makes this place special isn't just the delicious food (though that's certainly part of it) - it's the way Kai and the team create an atmosphere that keeps you coming back. They remember preferences, make thoughtful recommendations, and ensure every guest feels like a regular. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines excellent Japanese cuisine with truly outstanding service, Jimoto is the place, and if Kai is your server, you're in for a treat.    Great food. Just a little loud , sounds echo - maybe some sound dampening . The seats by windows are much quieter. Other wise a great experience with food and and service.

   we went for the happy hour which is a great offer! lots of good options on the happy hour menu. the waiter was ok but not great, he was looking at his phone a lot. We really enjoy this restaurant and keep going back

   Inexperienced staff, over-priced dishes, incomprehensible menu. With many open tables, sat us next to loud, annoying, over-indulgent mother and toddler. Unpleasant dining experience totally.

   What a wonderful meal! The salmon sashimi was SO fresh and some of the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot). The Chicago Fire roll was super flavorful and substantial. Great food, service and ambiance. Very highly recommend!

   We frequently go to sister restaurant 501 Local, but this was our first time at Jimoto ,and it won't be our last. The food and service were both excellent.
