Leonelli Taberna is a casual Roman-inspired trattoria from acclaimed Chef Jonathan Benno. The menu of rustic Italian dishes includes an array of Stuzzichini (snacks to share), Antipasti, and Salumi ideal for building a social dining experience. Baked to order Pasta Al Forno dishes arrive bubbling hot from the oven, and can be enjoyed as an entrée, or alongside a selection of Pesce and Carne dishes and accompanying Contorni (sides). Desserts include a selection of house baked Italian cookies and gelato, as well as plated desserts melding classic Italian recipes and local seasonality. Leonelli Taberna also features an expansive cocktail bar and lounge area where the full dinner menu is served. The beverage program includes a focused and approachable list of Italian wines, and cocktails showcasing both Italian spirits and local producers in classic drinks and distinct preparations.

Everything was perfectly prepared and sumptuous. I only gave the food four stars because it felt wrong to put it on the same level as some of the best service I have received in years. Wonderful lunch.

We had the most amazing dinner here. The food was incredible, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was awesome. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food terrible service that made us regretting coming here. There are plenty of good places in nyc so the fact that the service is so horrendous (attitudes and slowness)I recommend to skip it.

We went here for a Restaurant Week lunch, and now, we can't wait to go back to try many of the items that appear on the regular lunch and dinner menus. We had the panzanella salad, and the mozzarella and tomato salads to start - both were fresh and flavorful, and perfectly dressed. Then, we both had the Tuscan fried chicken - a huge portion of three pieces, each of which was in a delicious, crispy batter, and the chicken was moist and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we splurged, and ordered an ice cream from the regular menu - cannoli ice cream, studded with dark chocolate and orange rind. One of the best ice cream flavors we've ever tasted. Our server was professional, engaged and helpful. Definitely worth a repeat visit...or two or three

The staff at the Bar we're incredible! Some of the best servers I've ever experienced in NYC. Be sure to have the Fried Veggies too.
