Food was good, especially the scallops and risotto. However, they included an 18% tip even for 2 people and the price to food quality / proportion is exceptionally high.

30 dollars for foie gras appetizer seemed excessive and my clothes smelled after as the kitchen is poorly ventilated.

OK service, good food, but far overpriced. I think on the menu, it was $18 for one scallop, and $16 for one squash blossom. Service was ok, once you got the bartender's attention (we sat at the bar). Automatic 20% gratuity was not earned, however. We paid $98 for two plates of pasta, two glasses of wine and one beer. I overheard the bartender saying that "chef has ruined me for eating out" because the food was so good, he felt nothing in Seattle compared. It was good, however, not THAT good. My advice: Lower your prices a bit and be more humble and attentive if you want to charge an automatic 20%. That is usually reserved for excellent, above and beyond service. Not waving to try and get the bartender's attention type of service.

Dinner was outstanding as always! After my husband got stuck at work the bartender was kind enough to make space for a few friends to join me that happened to having drinks at the bar. His drinks were delicious and he kept us laughing. I had to leave early and the owner boxed up my food straight off the stove. It was delicious as ever. We are so lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood!

We have lived on Queen Anne for decades and have wanted to try this restaurant. We made reservations to take our son there for his birthday. The location on Queen Anne is excellent. We were surprised by the level of noise in the restaurant. Apparently, no one seems to realize that the atmosphere and ambiance would be vastly improved by installing ceiling baffles to improve the acoustics. We could not hear eachother talk which was very dissapointing. The food, while tasty and presented well, left us slightly hungry. We thought there should have been about 1/4 more food on the plates for the price. The dessert was a chocolate, huckleberry concoction but was fairly bland. It was okay but not a place I would eat at again unless changes were made.

Thanks again for a wonderful evening. LloydMartin always comes through. Their food is delicious and always creative. The Wednesday wine deal is a welcome addition. We will be back!

Enjoyed another really great dinner here. Sam and his team create beautiful and delicious food! Worth a trip if you don't live in the neighborhood.

The food was very tasty and creative if not slightly pricey. The portions were about right. The interior of the bar was attractive.

This restaurant comes highly recommended by a foodie I have the utmost respect for so I was excited to try it out for the first time. On the night we went, they had a foie gras dish on the menu, which we were told was the source of the quite overwhelming smoky environment that hit us when we walked in. It was a warm summer evening, so the doors were open and the restaurant was as airy as it could be. I'm all for an open kitchen, but that was a little unpleasant. Anyway, we stayed and ordered. I had the chanterelles and scallops; my husband had the beets and New York strip. The food was nice, but not amazing. The chanterelles starter was a little too rich, and could have used some grilled bread to soak up the egg and sauce. The scallops really could have had a little more substance on the plate, or at least I could have been recommended a side. My husband enjoyed the beets and steak, and the portions and flavors seemed a little better balanced than my choices. I never like feeling too full, but the portions for me didn't quite hit the mark - even after half a rice crispie treat. Overall it was way over-priced in my opinion, and really nothing to write home about. I also felt a little rushed to order and eat up which bothers me when I'm spending over $100 a head. Maybe we just didn't see the best in Lloyd Martin on that occasion, but I won't hurry back.
