Matchbox - One Loudoun
Friday: 11:00 - 11:30pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 11:30pm
Sunday: 10:00am - 10:30pm
Happy hour prices are only in the bar and don’t apply to the restaurant area.
Drinks sloppy and a bit of a mess for an $11 cocktails also did not have one of the signature cocktails on the menu. Drinks were not well mixed.
Calamari a bit stringy and pepper Jelly too thick for dipping.
Pizzas were great.
Service attentive but disjointed at times.
Outstanding food and service. We had an early dinner before a movie. The BBQ Burger was one of the best burger I have eaten. My wife had the Chicken Pesto Sandwich, it was excellent. The drink selection is extensive.
Got our orders wrong, wrong food on checks, food took forever and was cold. Not worth it.
Excellent Sunday Brunch food was very good service too!
Great atmosphere, great service, great food
Great experience. The outside seating is amazing!
When we arrived at the table, a mgr was talking with a server. No one came over to take our drink orders for quite some time - my husband and i looked right at mgr and he ignored our looks. To the credit of another server he said something to the mgr and the female server the mgr was talking with cane over. Less than stalker service the rest of the meal, Server did not check on us. Had to be flagged down for refills. Had to be flagged down for check.
On another note, there was a table of six that arrived after us. The small child spilled his drink and there were two servers that saw what happened from their station and didn’t move to help. Yes, it wasn’t their table, but they should have helped the customers. The drink went all all the table and onto the floor before their server arrived to help (he was not Ione of the servers in the area). Unacceptable.
I think this location first needs to retrain management on what Exceptional Customer Service is and then retrain the staff. We have never encountered such poor service at any Matchbox that we have been at in years. We frequent the One Loudoun location often and it will be some time before we decide to return after today’s incidents.
My second time to this restaurant. First experience was a little better than the first but food and wine was great overall both times. The server was new and definitely rushed us on this visit. Not sure if it was because she was new or because they were pushing turnover because it was busy. Otherwise, good.
Menu was limited and pretty boring
Food was just average
My only complaint is that the server was not very attentive (he seemed distracted by something) and was rushing me to pay the check so he could leave for the day ... my wife was interested in buying more drinks, but wanted to leave after feeling like being rushed to pay the check. With that level of service, I am not likely to return to Matchbox any time soon. I would recommend additional training for this server.
Normally I love this place. We went there for Mother’s Day lunch. Staffing wasn’t adequate for the crowd. Timing of food and apps was off, couldn’t get any drink refills without having to track down a server multiple times. Great bar spot rethinking the restaurant part.
I took my mother here for Mother's Day brunch. We both thought our meals were just so-so. I had the cinnamon roll french toast, and it was pretty mushy and just tasted okay. I would have preferred some pancakes or regular french toast, but neither was on the brunch menu. My mother had the ultimate breakfast sandwich and thought it was nothing special. She did like her breakfast potatoes though. We both had decaf coffee and it was terrible. I've had dinner and drinks here many times and was happy with those selections, the brunch just falls short.
Server was very inexperienced
Great menu, fresh salads, great gluten free pizza, and loved the in house wine options. Service was fantastic also! Will definitely go back.
The service on the outside patio was slow .
Took my mom out for her birthday. My husband and I have been there before. She loved it, we knew she would. What's not to love. Great food, drinks and desserts.
A last minute decision to try something new with the kids. Service was slow as it was with busy with a younger crowd. Not a good place for a relaxing family dinner. Food was good but service was slow
This is our favorite resturant in Loudoun. Service, food quality, and ambiance is done very well. Always enjoy our times at Matchbox. Thank you and look forward to retirning!
Felt a little crammed in the both they places us in but food and service was great! Jorey was an awesome and fun waiter!!
The food and drinks were delicious. My only issue with this particular visit is that I had an immediate reaction to the gluten free Matchbox Meat pizza once I finished it, which has never happened. I visit this Matchbox very often, so I’m not sure what happened this time.
Met friends for an after-work dinner. It is noisy, but we made it work! Food is consistently good. I had the pear, apple walnut salad with a piece of salmon. It was yummy. Husband had spare ribs and he was happy. I am also a big fan of their burger (no cheese), and their banana pepper and pepperoni pizza. Solid spot in One Loudoun.
All Around good experience. No one in party had anything negative to say. Will definitely return again.
We enjoy Matchbox a great deal. This past weekend our pizza order seemed to get delayed, and when it arrived it was only lukewarm. After two slices I asked the waiter to just heat it up again; he insisted on bringing an entirely new pizza, piping hot (and quickly). No charge. Nice touch. Servers have always been extra-friendly, which makes for an enjoyable experience. Drinks OK, wine list good (the Matchbox red blend is excellent), pizza delicious.
They have a new menu with more than just pizza. The chorizo burger was good, but not as spicy as I would have liked. Good service, even on a busy day.
We enjoyed our Easter brunch here with family. They worked very hard to accommodate my daughter’s food allergies and welcomed us with a free appetizer as first-timers. The food was excellent and we would definitely return. Service was friendly and prompt.
We have eaten there before and liked it, we went for Easter Brunch, was hoping for a bigger brunch selection, especially for Easter. Still had good food and great service. Just not memorable for Easter Brunch. We will continue to frequent Matchbox, we love the bar area for casual dining and the special table upstairs.
3 adults and two children 9 and 11 years old. The entire experience was very good even with a major spill!
Booths were a little small for 4 adults and coats and bags. All else was great!
It was good
This was a family get-together and we were looking forward to good food and great conversation. The bar was loud; don't know why we were taken there. The place wasn't crowded at all. This was our 1st visit to Matchbox, so I wasn't familiar with the layout, but asked for a quiet place. The fellow who waited on us wasn't familiar with the gluten free options. There were very few options except for pizza. If you are familiar with GF pizza, it's mostly served on the same frozen crust every other restaurant uses. No GF bun for burgers. No lettuce wraps. I had a small salad with a very small portion of steak part of which couldn't be chewed. Yuk! Won't be going there again. BTW, they entice you with 4 levels of dining, only one was available on this sunny Sunday. Wouldn't recommend for a special occasion.
Two of the three meals ordered at our table arrived incorrectly prepared. One was a burger that was missing toppings that were requested as well as the side (as in no side was brought at all). We had to ask two different servers to bring the side (fries). The other meal was the mini burgers/sliders that arrived cold and without the requested toppings. The onion straws with the sliders were also cold and tasted like nothing but grease. Little attempt was made to make anything right. Additionally, my drink (water) was only refilled once...as we were leaving. So disappointing. Will likely not return.
Great ambiance, great food. Smoke+Fire pizza is fabulous.
Pizza was greasy and a bit undercooked. The sauce on the fire & spoke pizza and arancini were incredible though. Dessert churros were delish!!
Food and service were good but the noise level is not really conducive for a business lunch. I requested a quiet area but was placed on the most crowded side.
I've been to Matchbox many times. The food is always consistently good here. The service can be strained at times. Servers with too many tables seems to be a factor in close to half of my visits. Proper staffing at peak times doesn't seem well planned at times.
Tasty pizza for dinner and incredibly delicious churros for dessert! We will be back soon!
Really enjoyed our experience at Matchbox. The waiter was so personable and really helpful with meal selection options.
So loud inside; hard to have a conversation. Sat in a side private dining room which was fine until three families with small children were seated there too. there were two other business type dinners going on --- not understanding why the families had to be seated with the business diners.
