Meat Flour Wine
Good food and ambience and would have no hesitation on recommending to anyone wanting a good experience of good food and fine wines.
Party of 6. Went for dinner. Booking was for 8:30pm. We had to wait to be seated as our table was not ready. Food took 45mins to come out. This could have been one person ordered steak but still was a bit too long to wait. The food was fine. The pasta was ok and the steak was good. Had the tiramisu for dessert. It wasnt that great. If you are going here on Saturday night be prepared to wait even if you have a booking. The place is new so im guessing thats why its so full.
Exceptional Service, Wonderful Atmosphere and delicious food.
Overpriced, underwhelming food - literally $38 for a steak and chips. Ridiculous. You don’t get so much as a bread roll for free, and the restaurant is too loud and in the middle of nowhere. The “truffle butter” was a fifty cent piece size frozen pellet. Medium rare steak was not medium rare.
Food was ok. Service was ok. Just an average experience.
Great service and great food. Thanks for a fabulous experience.
I love this place, the service, ambiance, quality of food is always spectacular!
Food overall was nice but our pizza was burnt and pasta was undercooked. Service was really quick. We were in and out within 40 mins. Had better experience in the past.
The food was really yummy, fresh and high quality
Love this place. Great Vibe. Great staff-friendly-patient. Food was outstanding. We love it that this is only around the corner from where we live. Good Times! Thanks.
So, a first class Italian restaurant in Braeside. Yep, Braeside. My initial scepticism about the lunch vanished the moment I walked in the door. The tantalising smells coming from the well-thought out kitchen, the subdued hum of conversation and laughter, the light and airy ambience of the main dining area, all conspired to put me in a much more relaxed frame of mind.
Service was nothing less than engaging, personable and confident, just like the food. We elected to keep our starters simple, opting for a small plain garlic pizza to share amongst the four of us. It’s not on the menu, but really ought to be - if something this simple can be so well done, it’s a delightful expectation raiser for the main event. And we weren’t disappointed. I had the hand-made beef cheek and ricotta Tortellone with a red wine jus and glazed baby carrots. Exceptional! Daughter opted for the Reginette with slow cooked Lamb Ragu topped with pangrattato, peas, pecorino cheese and dehydrated olives. Another winner. Son and Son-in-Law both went full carnivore, taking the 280g Black Angus Waygu with Truffle Butter, with sides of roasted vegetables. Simple, but spectacular, the beef was simply perfect, and perfectly cooked. All washed down with a beer or two from the generous selection available.
Speaking of drinks, do check out the wine list. We didn’t get to sample it, but some thought has gone into the Australian wines on offer, and there’s a truly excellent selection of Italian wines.
Price? Well, this ain’t your average pizza joint around the corner, so don’t expect to pay Pizza Hut money. Still, at a tad over $50 a head for city-class dining in the burbs, I thought it very well priced. Definitely on my Top Ten list of places to eat in Melbourne. Put it this way - Ubaldo Di Pietrantonio can be very proud of what his grandchildren have done here.
Great food and service. Have driven past several times, we will be back. Thank you.
Really inattentive waiter, given glasses for water, but had to ask for bottle of water, didn't serve all that was ordered for main course, and upon asking where the last accompany dish was, waiter said they had run out - not apology and we could order something else - would have been nice to have a bowl of chips sent free !!
Then when paying bill the accompany dish that we didn't receive was on the bill !!! Hmm food good, pretty expensive for poor service! Will let friends know what to expect
Been a few times now with different people and they all love it
We really enjoyed our first dining experience and look forward to returning soon.
Amazing food, ambience and service. Will Definetly be back!
I was bit disappointed with the steak as it was chewy and difficult to cut.
The service was quick and attentive, our waitress was happy to please and nothing was too much trouble. Our entree pizza arrived a little cool, but we didn't mind as the base was nice and crispy. The desserts are amazing and after substantial meals we managed to fit them in, I highly recommend the chocolate mouse cake !
Food was incredible and came out so fast, service was fairly lousy, the tables are so close together that I could see the lady next to us texting her boyfriend while out for her birthday dinner with her husband 🙄
Service was excellent and the food was delicious, I will definitely be returning again soon.
Overpriced. Pizza was average.
20 mins after ordering our drinks I had to ask for them
I ate the agnolotti and the ends of the pasta were not soft. They were dry and not very nice.
The sauce needed salt - but I like salt so it is possible that there was actually enough salt. The waitress didn't offer us parmesan or cracked pepper which seemed odd, but was quick to bring it over, when we asked for it. Overall, a pleasant enough experience.
We found our dining experience above our expectation.
What we ordered was slightly different to what we received, however it was fine and the bill reflected what was delivered.
Potentially it could have been partly our fault.
We will certainly be back.
Great place for a business lunch or family dinner. Cool and classy. Will visit again.
We had the loveliest waitress who catered to our every need. There is a restriction on time you are allowed to be seated so that was the only negative I could say about the restaurant. It's super busy so I can understand why they have to enforce this. The food is great, it's a little pricey but worth it. I went back the next day for lunch so I guess that tells it all. Great job everyone and thanks for making us feel at ease with an elderly person and two very excitable children...your patience was exemplary.
Great food, great service. Enjoyed our night there
WE CHOSE the grazing platter and a half metre mixed pizza. Both choices were delicious, however 1 diner thought the lamb was too fatty, their personal preference. We will be back, love MFW.
Food was amazing, good cocktails, staff were all super friendly and helpful will definitely be coming back. Pricey but definitely worth it. The creme brûlée was soo yum. Restaurant was packed but could still have a proper conversation without struggle.
Decent service. Cool atmosphere. Delicious pizza, fairly reasonably priced. Huge drinks menu albeit a little pricey. Would definitely eat here again.
We had a very tasty meal but for the price a bit on the small side. I had a knife in my hand after eating my entree and the waitress grabbed it out of my hand to clear away the plate before our main course came. It wasn’t that the restaurant was busy and they needed the table. It felt like while being attentive they wanted us to hurry up so they could go home.
A really lovely ambience and the restaurant isn't too loud at all. The food is fantastic and portions are great. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall a fantastic experience
Absolutely beautiful food, reasonably priced.
Lovely ambiance & decor.
Staff were very helpful.
Food was good. Table service pushy and waiter was very short and no personality. Paid the bill plus extra. He never came back. We eventually left with no interaction with staff. I would expect more from a place which is far from budget priced.
Excellent service and friendly waitress. Great venue. Good vibe but still enough to hear one another
Great food, service and value for money. It was a cold in the restaurant we were sitting near the door.
I loved the food and service at Meat Flour & Wine and will definitely be returning. Though noisey (due to its popularity and guests enjoying themselves) the whole experience was really positive
Firstly my apologies as I run a sizable restaurant also and this type of feedback stings - but I provide it for your benefit. Sunday 1.45 pm booking. Waited at the desk while the maitre de looked to be organizing entering orders for a large group (not great). Got seated eventually, then was ignored and had to ask for menus (My gut told me to walk out! I should have listened). Ordered food at around 2pm and didnt get any food until 3pm. No updates, had to ask staff what was happening. Guys if you are busy just tell the customer, be proactive and offer a round of drinks. Ignoring the customer, not acknowledging the customer and not apologizing for the wait just ensures you lose customers. All restaurants have busy periods, it is how you handle it that determines if your restaurant is successful or not. Looked to me that there just seems to be a lack of oversight on the floor. Food was good when it arrived but for the prices you are charging your service and approach to peak periods must be much better. Suggest when you have large groups to reduce the load on the kitchen by stopping bookings for a period. Good luck
PRICE A BIT HIGH FOR THE LOCATION
OTHERWISE GOOD FOOD
the pizza's were really good. i've been there where my friend and i had pasta, hers was tasteless and mine had a few bits for a rather large price, wasn't satisfied, but this the pizza's were delish, thanks
Food was amazing, cocktails were delicious, and the staff were fantastic, especially the young lady who served us.
