Neptune is a modern British neighbourhood restaurant located in the heart of Bloomsbury, serving the finest, thoughtfully sourced British produce. From oysters and shellfish selected from independent growers across the UK and served from the Oyster Bar, to the finest British ingredients cooked on the wood-fire grill, including dry-aged beef from Yorkshire and fish direct from boats in Cornwall.

While the casual bar serves fresh aperitif style cocktails, the ever-evolving wine list focuses on a mix of low intervention and classic wines from quality local and international producers.

To compliment the stunning menu, Russell Sage Studio and Margaret Crow revived the existing Grade II-listed dining room by adding a graphic wooden floor, peach ceiling and a centrally located pewter-top bar, creating a space that is as elegant as it is inviting from morning through to late evening.

Amazing food and even more amazing service. We took our friend as a treat for his 30th bday and the staff we're amazing, in particular our waitress. Very friendly and attentive also gave us the best recommendations for the menu. I'll be back as soon as I can!

The food was delicious with sufficient choice (not over complicated). I particularly enjoyed the side dishes, which were generous so the table could share them. Our waitress, in particular, was friendly and helpful. She made a fuss of us when she heard it was our friend's birthday, so it felt special. Thank you!

Food only average with not much thought to presentation - service friendly but disorganised. At £150 for 2 people - one with 1 course and dessert the other with just one course and a bottle of average wine it a expensive and lacks the style and service of a 4/5 star hotel restaurant - wouldn't return.

It was a great place to host a business dinner. This was my second visit to Neptune. The ambience and service were excellent as always. The Burrata has been my absolute favourite here.

Beautiful restaurant. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Made sure we were ok and nothing was too much of an ask. Definitely will go again.

We liked the size of table and its situation; often tables can be huge and it is difficult to hear people speak. The staff were attentive but not overly so - perfect combination. Everyone enjoyed the selection on the menu though the restaurant is called Neptune so we were expecting a wider range of fish, than just oysters, fish and chips and a trout. The food was tasty and different. My crab with semolina 'crisp' bread was very good, but sadly there was no Chef's specials to make it feel more fresh for the day and showing off the Chef's capabilities. Some of our table were dry January, this kept the bill down so the meal was good value. Our one criticism were the ridiculously large and cumbersome menu sheets trying to be a Pizza Hut when it blantantly isn't. I feel the restaurant is aiming to be a mix of styles : a smart burger bar, specialist oyster bar, family restaurant or class dining with a sommelier. To some degree this worked, we felt at ease and comfortable but the wine list could have mirrored more the price of the menu with some alternative good but cheaper wines. Thank you

Lovely restaurant, loved the decor. Just thought the desserts were a bit strange and not up to same standard as the starters and mains.
