Happy Hour menu was fantastic, plenty of options for a small group to share.
Our server Zach made our mea a positive experience. He is happy, works hard and gets it right.
I am usually a big fan of Pacific Catch and have dined there many times over the years. Unfortunately, this evening we received less than stellar service and food that was not up to their usual high standards. My $27 entree arrived with three tiny slices of carrots, five slices of shiitake mushrooms and about a pound of rice to compensate for the skimpy portions of everything else. I hope this was an outlier and not a trend.
Our party ordered 2 of the Poke Chirashi and many portions of the sushi rice we’re extremely hard almost under-cooked, as though there wasn’t enough water used in the cooking process. We mentioned this to our server who said she would tell the kitchen but there was never any follow-up to us by any staff. Not a good food experience.
Our service was pretty slow and not much follow up on beverage refills or clearing plates.
It was good but the wait for the food was too long.
Since attempting to dine here when Pacific Catch first opened and leaving due to bad service, we decided to give this another try. I am glad we did. They have worked out the bugs. The food was good, (although my fish tacos could have been warmer,) our server was attentive without being intrusive, my diner partners enjoyed their food, the noise level was tolerable, and the food was a good value. Will definitely return.
The food is yummy
I had a belated birthday dinner tonight and was pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and amazingly good food had by my family and I. Our server, Zack, was the best we have had at this establishment. We come here often but this time it solidified why we do! Even the simplest of dishes taste amazing. I strongly suggest you try it out and see what you think! PS Save room for the chocolate macadamia nut brownie sundae.
Our waitress either misheard one of our entrees, or made a mistake. She had a large party next to us, perhaps the reason the follow up was so poor. At least five minutes passed before she came back to our table. She reassured us the correct entree would arrive shortly and would be comped. It didn’ arrive; we called her over to cancel it. She said she would “have them push it and offered a comped dessert as well. Over fifteen minutes later the correct entree arrived. No complaints about the food itself. We declined dessert, requested the bill. That included both entrees! We needed the manager to resolve this mess.
Let's see: They totally and utterly messed up both of our orders. When they were sent back and the "correct" orders finally arrived, in one of them the salmon was ridiculously undercooked, virtually raw. When that order was returned, I changed it to the entree of three pokes (heck, you can't undercook raw fish!). Unfortunately, the poke was totally tasteless, the absolute worst poke I've ever had. I should have sent it back, but by now I was worn out (and I don't really think that you can send a dish back just because it tastes like garbage, can you?). The poke you can buy at Safeway for $10/lb is much, much better than the poke at Pacific Catch. Finally, there was no accommodation made on our bill to minimize the hurt from this horrible meal. This place has had its ups and downs over the past few years, but this was a miserable experience all the way around. A dinner of frozen fish sticks would have been better...by far.
Food and service were good
It's my favorite go-to. The other night, my sushi roll was way too wet. :-( My sashimi special with jalapenos was really good though. The other guests' tacos and fries were quite good. I'm hoping tonight will be a better night. Yes, going with some friends tonight!
I arrived at 7 PM, today the sky was dark and cold, the wind was blowing at 14 MPH. The hostess told me to sit outside on the patio, because I was dining alone, she didn’t want to give me a table. I refused, she told me to sit on a stool at the bar. I refused, because I made a reservation with a standard seating.
I was shocked the way she talked to me and treated me because I was a solo diner. For the records, I ate at the restaurant quite often.
I am very disappointed!
very nice - pleasant hospitality - great fish - receptionist taking phone orders unable to seat us
This place never disappoints. Great food and friendly service.
Nice for a strip mall eatery. Lots of vegi options, but very pricey.
If a minted lemonade is wanted, don’t call it a mojito!
I ordered the Sea Bass and it was extremely thin for the price you pay. The rest was good.
Taste is alright. However I expected more for the price. If you enjoy unadulterated "natural" seafood, then this is the place for you. But if you expect subtle interplay with butter, garlic, spices, etc. , there are better choices.
I have eaten at Pacific Catch before, at this one and one in San Jose in the Pruneridge shopping center. The one in Mountain View seems to be a little more upscale. The food is good and the service this time was very, very good. The menu is very different than other restaurants that serve mainly fish. No doubt we will return to either one in the future. The only thing is that I am not into raw fish.
We've had inconsistent service here in the past, but this visit was excellent - the server was friendly and attentive. There weren't many customers seated inside on a warm Thursday evening - more outside. My wild salmon dinner had large portions with tasty veggies, spicy cauliflower, and coconut rice cake, served green curry style. It was spicy. I enjoyed it with a coconut mai tai. My son enjoyed his usual fish & chips with broccoli dinner.
Met friends for dinner. Food and cocktails are overpriced and not worth it. One of our friends ordered the poke tower and said it wasn't as good as the one at another location. Another friend's entree was under seasoned. Server was not attentive. We expected better food and service for the price we paid.
Was our 1st time and our waiter was very helpful and made good suggestions. The ribs were great, but my wife was expecting something different than the pike burger. She will know better next time to order in it’s normal state. Would go again…
The happy hour menu is the perfect way to get a taste of several dishes and share with friends.
The dining room was fairly empty, and they sat a party of eight with a screening baby right next to us..
They should have sat them farther away from us, as we were already there. The baby was screaming so loud, they took him outside for awhile, then they returned, and he kept crying.
They should have at least asked us if we wanted to move. They were not busy at all, and as said, the restaurant was really empty.
Great food, excellent service. It’s always great to see when the wait staff are enjoying their work!! A fun meal
Took a friend here for her birthday because she likes fish, though I do not. She said hers was good. I ordered a chicken bowl which was tasty but more rice than anything. We also ordered an appetizer but the meal was delivered before we had a chance to finish our cocktail and the appetizer so we felt rushed. But the worst was the fact that the waiter had dirty finger nails. Yuck.
We dine at Pacific Catch often, however,
praise goes to the chef this time. Best meal we’ve had so far!
Great service and food!
The food is excellent. It’s noisy when crowded but wonderful otherwise.
The food was excellent. I had a reservation for 7:30 and somehow they messed that up and didn't get us seated until 8 or so, but other than that it was great.
The word that best describes this restaurant is inconsistent. One time you’ll go and a certain dish will be excellent, the next time it will be barely edible and not properly cooked. (One issue they routinely have is under cooking their salmon.) The service also is highly erratic. They are always understaffed and the servers run around as though the place was on fire. They need better management and more consistency because the food at times is very good.
It was good as usual.
Excellent attentive service. Hostess was really pleasant. Knew which people from my party had arrived early and let us know we could wait for others in the bar or at our table. Waiter was super friendly, helpful and responsive. Food was served nice and hot and the variety was very nice. Love that you can have sparkling or still water. Noise level was higher than I would have liked, but we were still able to have some conversation without having to raise our voices too much.
My family eats at Pac Catch Mt View several times a month. Good food. Good service. Nice staff. Seasonal menus.
Had a lovely seat on the Patio with our well behaved dog. The only issue was getting our drinks and then our food order placed. Turns out they had just seated a very large party that backed the bar up. Our seats were so nice that it was fine to wait.
Loved the Asian-style fish and the Mexican chocolate creme brulee
Great food and outdoor seating. I had the Yellowtail fish in green curry with mixed veggies and rice. Delicious!
Visiting son, wife and 2 granddaughters.
Cold and bad tasting food. Our salmon was raw. Waitperson forgot our soups and my friends drink
