   Some of the food was very salty, and I find underseasoned food unforgivable so I’m not saying this out of fear of flavor or high blood pressure. Bao buns and pizza were delicious; butter chicken was only acceptable. And overly salty. Scallops were good and not overcooked but had a very salty sauce of some sort. Service was generally very good. Some plates came nearly immediately and others took 15 minutes but we were never without. Server was great, friendly and checked in often. If they moderated the salt levels and nailed the cuisine styles on every dish this would be a 5 star. Still worth visiting.

   I love Palette 22, every time we go to Shirlington it’s our must stop for food. Tonight was to celebrate my bday, and even if we didn’t ask for it, the waiter that took care of us through the night, knew it was my bday and brought candles and sang happy birthday for me. Really a special place, with great vibes. Also, check the paintings too, these’re always great artists painting live.

   Happy hour on a Tuesday. Early - like 5:30. Bar area was hopping. I sat (all alone, sniffle, as I was traveling for business) in the main dining room. Even with the separation , the vibe from the bar made me a little envious. The food is small plates, though I didn’t see the word “Tapas” anywhere. I ordered a glass of housemade Sangria. I always like sangria on the menu more than I like it in real life. Nevertheless, this was pretty good. I decided on the $38 order whatever you want as much as you want bottomless dinner option. 38 bucks?! Yep. Good deal as long as you can eat 4 small plates. As it turns out I can, in fact, eat 4 small plates. I probably could’ve done a fifth but I didn’t wanna make a pig of myself. I ordered the following. Cold chili udon noodles, pork belly bao buns, spicy cucumbers, and jerk chicken skewers. Everything was I’d-order-that-again good. Oh wait- I had the street corn too. I guess I did make a pig out of myself. Final thoughts: go with a friend or two. Otherwise you’ll look silly like I did, eating sharable plates all by yourself. If you have no friends, invite me. I would definitely go back.

    We had a wonderful brunch. Thank you so much! The hummus was delicious, the tacos, Omg! , the waffles perfectly prepared. Everyone enjoyed everything they tasted .
