Good food, not the best service
Loved my experience, only negative is the washroom experience....the smell was terrible and it started all the way from the stairwell on the way down. The washrooms themselves are very nice.
My new favourite restaurant. We will be back. Ravioli to die for.
Amazing food but a little too noisy. The tables are very close together which makes it hard to hear. And no, I'm not a senior citizen.
Great variety of food. Decent portions for a group over 4 people.
Food was excellent. Everything from the Buratta to the Pizza and Pasta was super fresh and full of flavour.
Our meal was excellent except for the Caesar Salad, it was bland in flavour and although we like broccoli, it was not enjoyable in the salad.
Our food came very fast and was extremely tasty. Our server was knowledgeable and nice and made great recommendations however did not check back on us during meal. I think it's because they have someone else constantly checking in and refilling our waters.
Char grilled calamari is perfect setting the stage for a fantastic meal. Homemade meatballs unreal.
Such a pretty spot! Great Italian comfort food, nice wine list and friendly service.
Service was excellent and food is amazing. Restaurant can be noisy.
Piano Piano is a beautiful space for a salad and a coffee but don't expect too much from the pasta or service. We went for a business lunch to catch up with some colleagues who had moved on to other places. The lunch deal is good value for $24.00. The appetizer chopped salad was good but the pasta main - mushroom cavetelli - was under cooked (chewy) and flavorless. Service was sub par too and I raised my eyebrow when the waitress told half the table to make sure they know what they want before she takes the order because the other half just asked her too many questions. Um..it's your job to answer questions about the menu LOL. Probably won't be going back which is a shame because it could have been a regular business lunch spot for us.
I am always impressed by the food presentation and creative combination of tastes. I would recommned PianoPiano for anyone who wants to taste authentic italian food. You must try the pasta!
One of the best restaurants this city has to offer.
While the food was OFF-THE-HOOK, and the server was DELIGHTFUL, service was VERY slow the evening we went. We were seated immediately (even a bit before our reservation!) but it took approximately 20 minutes to order a drink and our first course came out an hour after we were seated. I recognize that there were some specific challenges that were being navigated (recent transitions, it seems) and expect that tip-top service will resume shortly. I'll be back...and hopefully less hangry by the time I receive my appetizer.
The crust of the pizza was burnt and inedible. Pizza combinations interesting, although the greens they put on the pizza was minimal, the crust itself was average and on the doughy side, nothing to exciting for $22 per pizza. I have eaten better pizza. Had high expectations that were not met.
However the meatball were tasty and plentiful!! But not cheap. Brussel sprouts overly burnt on the outside, dry and under cooked inside.
The antipasto portions were minute, the service was slow and not well coordinated. Got burned toasted bread after we finished antipasto. Had to wait a long time for main course which was good. The white wine bottle kept disappearing to keep it cold but we had to ask to refill our glasses and staff difficult to make eye contact. Not an impressive experience for our guests.
Wonderful restaurant that deserves the acclaim it’s receiving. Pasta dishes were exceptional, as was their elevated take on a Caesar salad. Our server was extremely friendly, but also knew how to give us space. The only flaw - and this was frustrating - was the air conditioner wasn’t working. This significantly detracted from the dining experience. Advance notice would have been appreciated (we’ve seen other comparable local restaurants close in similar scenarios), as many tables were visibly uncomfortable with the heat.
Went out for a birthday dinner on a recommendation from a friend. Husband and I had smoked burrata for app, spinach and ricotta pasta and spicy hornet pizza for mains. Dinner was amazing, more than enough for 2 of us. Atmosphere was great and staff was very friendly. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
Irish server (female) was amazing. Didnt catch her name unfortunately. She made the visit even better.
Piano Piano never disappoints. The food is incredible, the staff are amazing and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend the egg ravioli. Make your reservations early through open table as I find it very difficult to get through to them by phone.
Far too loud. I could barely hear my friend throughout the visit. Also, our appetizer, the wood fired mushrooms, looked the same as our main, the veal medallions. Same presentation with arugula and greens covering mushrooms and veal. Bread was good but we had to ask for it. Signature cocktail was warm, too. We won't return.
The space is beautiful. Everyone at the table did the set price lunch. The waitress we had unfortunately wasn't very good. We asked for recommendations and she couldn't even make one and on top of that, she didn't have a very kind demeanor and the entire table felt that she must've been in a bad mood.
The calamari was cooked perfectly, the salad with the broccolini was delicious. The pizza had an overwhelming taste of burnt crust. Our reservation was for 230pm so they might not have cleaned off the bottom of the stove but it ruined the main dish and the pizza. The ravioli was nice but really salty. Waitress didn't really check up on us, otherwise I would've told her about both. The verdict from the 5 if us is that the mains were cooked we'll, but all too salty. Espresso at the end was really nice. For the size, sooner may find the salad over priced, but the taste was so on for me. Not sure if come back for good yet, but if I do it'd be for the appetizers only.
Amazing dishes! Highly recommend the mushroom pasta. The Cauliflower was also AMAZING! Such a great date night spot or girls night. Also very accommodating to food restrictions (we had a diary free and gluten free in our group)
Food is great! “Silver Platter” antipasto tray is amazing and super stocked with delicious food! Definitely worth the price. While decor and look of place is pretty & stylish, noise level is high. Not a great place for intimate conversation or business meeting. Latter could work in private room. One of our servers was a bit checked out to be honest but otherwise, main waitress was solid - pleasant & energetic.
We had a great lunch on Sunday with our friends and kids. Service was great and the food was tasty. Loved the fresh burrata and fried seafood appetizer. The kids meals served in a EZPZ mat was a great touch.
A worthy successor to Splendido. Great food, great service and a wonderful time!
It is very hard to get a reservation here due to its popularity. I waited months to try out this place and was very disappointed. The appetizers were great but the main dishes were not memorable. The pizza crust was burned. The pasta was way too spicy. There were not many nut friendly options for dessert. The service was lacking. The server would pass by our table numerous times but never had eye contact so our table would have to call out multiple times until she saw us. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful. However, overall we did not have a pleasant dining experience.
I went to celebrate a birthday with my cousin. The food was amazing honestly I didn’t want it to end! We split a pizza and a pasta and it was the perfect amount of food. Truly some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. I did tell them we were celebrating a birthday and they never brought a little desert or anything which was kind of sad but other than that everything was amazing !
We went to Piano Piano for my daughters birthday on the recommendation of one of her work colleagues and we are glad we listened. The food was very tasty and more affordable than I had thought it would be. As well as the wine list having great price points for anybody. Loved the decor and the fact that we didn't feel at all cramped in the space. We loved it and would definitely go back and recommend it to people we know.
Excellent dinner and experience. Definitely looking forward to returning.
Great vibe. Try the family meal w/ 6 ppl. Lovely environment. Went for a work dinner and returned for a date night.
Great food and service! The family style menu was delicious and such an amazing value. Come hungry!
The pizza and octopus were amazing and would highly recommend.
I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I asked the hostess if we could sit at another table which was also for 6 people, and her response was” it is a Saturday night you know” as if I asked a terrible question. Her attitude left something to be desired. The food was nothing special. The floor is incredibly slippery. A women did fall that night. Waitress says management is aware of the slippery floor. A Law suit waiting to happen.
Not a restaurant I would return to.
First time but won’t be the last. The service was excellent and the ambiance is ‘family’ friendly and comfortable.
The cavatelli with truffle and mushrooms was the best pasta I’ve ever had anywhere and that includes the pasta I’ve had in Italy. Truly superb. Caesar salad was very good. Chopped salad is delish. I enjoyed the pizza but prefer a crust that stands up a bit more.
We’ll be back for sure!!!
I loved the decor of this restaurant. The pizza I ordered for lunch was a good size for a personal pizza. I had enough to share with my mom and I was able to take some home. The lunch special was reasonably priced and included a started and double expresso as well as the pizza. My mom had a pasta dish that was very good. Our server was so friendly and enthusiastic. She explained we were unsure about. She helped us make substitutions for things my mom was unable to eat. She even went above and beyond to help us with directions to sight seeing spots.
It was ... ok. Nothing spectacular. Ordered the lunch special which included an appetizer and pasta or pizza. I went with the Insalata per Nikki and The Pretty Woman pizza.
Very good food and service. Would go back in a heartbeat.
