   An old favorite that misses the mark now. Food quality has gone downhill. Service spotty and lackluster. Better options nearby.

   Zebra has been a favorite summer dining experience for years. The food has been consistently delicious. The spoiler this time was service from arrival on. They were not busy this time for dinner. We arrived at reservation time. The Manager and host were discussing another reservation. No one else was waiting. They ignored us. Didn’t take a second to say Hi we will be with you. They finally seated us inside. Only three tables had people. No one came by for 10 minutes and then said I didn’t know you were here. Not a great start. The appetizers were very good. No one cleared dishes. Then our entrees arrived and the server had no where to put them. She dropped them on the side and it was a comedy routine juggling plates. She apologized. Didn’t offer fresh utensils. As the check was about to come we started to get service. We were asked repeatedly what she could do for us. But we were leaving. We dine out all the time as do many readers. We pay for great food, but at these prices we expect a great service experience. Say hello to your customers when they arrive. Let a server know you’ve seated someone Clear the dishes before the main entree arrives. When you aren’t busy there’s no excuse. Lots a great restaurant options in the area, so never assume anything.    Prix Fixe menu was nice, but only one option for dessert. It forced many people around us to order from the menu (perhaps that is the intention). Some dishes were very heavy on the garlic which wasn't necessary. Fish and calamari were very fresh and well prepared. Calamari in seafood salad was very tender, but again overly heavy on garlic. Service was okay but not very attentive and we weren't quite sure who our server was since they kept changing.

   They have gotten too big for their britches. Plenty of other amazing choices in the area. Disappointed with the service. It was empty and they acted as if they were doing us a favor by moving our table.

   Although $$$$, the food is consistently very good and the service is attentive. The noise level tends to be on the loud side. It wouldn’t be my first choice for a quiet dinner.

   Before the summer of 2018, Zebra was one of our favorite restaurants in Rehoboth Beach. The last two times we had dinner at Zebra there was clearly a problem in the kitchen, because it took an extended period of time to receive our appertizers and are dinner. We planned to leave just as our food was serviced. Most unfortunate experiences.

   This was our second time at Zebra this summer. Last summer we had a couple of outstanding meals, however this summer they may have slipped a bit. The ravioli was mushy and the scallops looked meek. Restaurant understaffed, our waitress advised us she was in the weeds, which translated too no bread or drinks until after you have received your starters. The meal was just okay, nothing stellar, typical desserts nothing creative. hopefully they get back on track for next summer.

   The lamb shank was excellent and the veal saltimbocca was just okay. The waiter was less than friendly, he seem like he wished to be somewhere else. We are not likely to return.

    They never recognized our special occasion a big anniversary, but everything else was good
