Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.

Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and Karaoke bar set to host celebrations and events, from bespoke meetings to the ultimate party.

Robun is the place to relax, unwind and enjoy sharing plates with friends and family. It will definitely leave you wanting more.

Last time I visited was a couple of years ago when it was an outstanding place to eats Very average experience on this visit. Food slow to arrive, lacklustre staff and the food was ok.

Aesthetically well presented food. The portions were generous. The food was really nice, taste and quality wise. Staff were very professional and attentive even though they were all busy on Father’s Day. Shout out to the head chef and all kitchen staff as well as the floor manager for taking good care of us while dining. Keep it up!

Quality of Fish was poor, sashimi cod was especially poor quality.m sushi was wafer thin and poorly cut. Spicy tofu, was basically undercooked Tofu covered in very gluttonous sticky jelly like substance. Would not visit again, extremely disappointing.

Really enjoyed our evening at Robun. All the dishes were presented so beautifully and tasted amazing. Having visited Japan last year we can confirm that the food was very authentic. Friendly, attentive service also.

Food was average. Didn’t taste authentic one round of the sushi we ordered was warm lacking flavour. We ordered 7 plates between 2 they arrived so quickly so couldn’t be cooked fresh. Our bill was close to £200 including cocktails. Food was average, no dish we ordered was special. The octopus was over cooked and all dishes were very very small considering the price. I would return or recommend

We had the tasting menu experience which was fantastic. We are fairly new to Japanese so this was perfect having a taste of lots of options. Highlights were the fish carpaccio starter in a spicy sesame sauce and the Wagyu carpaccio. The sashimi/nigiri was interesting and enjoyable for a first timer! We also did an intro sake flight which was lovely. The restaurant is buzzy and pretty, service was excellent despite us being sat next to a very large table of approx 20 (loud!) friends. Overall would definitely come again, but would order individual items off the menu now we know what we like best!

Friendly staff, nice ambience. Tried their top tier “Taste of Robun” taster menu which was overall pleasant but the supposed “omakase” sushi & sashimi platter in one of the courses was disappointing. It had salmon, tuna and prawn nigiri and then salmon, tuna and shiromi sashimi which was also too thinly sliced and short in length. The lack of variety speaks for itself… Our waitress did ask our feedback and fed back to a senior member of their team who came to speak with us which shows great customer service. In short, would return but unless they up their sushi/sashimi game, would not be ordering from that part of the menu.
