   We were the first guests seated for the evening, completely empty place, and placed up against the DJ booth. Very poor placement as 10 mins in, the DJ started setting up his equipment for the night. The process was noisy and distracting in a space whose whole purpose is ambience. The DJ caught on this right away and was talking to his partner about how bad he felt for us because it clearly was a huge disruption. For a place where “service” is supposedly meaningful, there was a lot lacking. If you can’t pull it together for the slower times of day, why bother? Cocktails and guacamole were as good as they are upstairs in Cosmica. Might as well go there for the fare and a different speakeasy for ambience and service

   I had a reservation for 3 people at 11pm on Friday and no one even came by to offer water or take our orders until 11:30pm and by that point we were putting on our coats to leave. I went to tell the hostess about the disappointing service but she didn’t seem to understand what I was saying and said “that’s okay” to my complaint. It looked like she was having a cocktail at the hostess stand, so I’m glad she was able to enjoy hers!

   Music was waaaaaaasy too loud for a lounge environment where people were sitting and talking. We were near a speaker and could not hear each other or the waitress. The waitress was amazing and requested several times the music be turned down and they turned it down for a bit and then it got loud again within a few minutes. She says the DJ does this every night. It was miserable. Everything about the place was great but we had to leave because the music was unbearable.

   Great place for drinks and small bites! Get the Short Rib tacos, so good! And I can remember the name of it, so I’ll just call it the Spy Dog, GOOD STUFF.

    This place lives up to the hype! Best listening bar in Boston. The ambiance, audio system, and bar program were all excellent. Not a “quiet” listening bar, but a place all the cool kids will want to be.
