Located just 10 minutes from Portsmouth and tucked away on the third floor of the historic Washington St. mill in Dover. Stages serves Progressive New England cuisine, focusing on foods that are farmed, foraged, and fished from within New England. Chef Evan Hennessey offers an array of flavors, sometimes familiar and sometimes unexpected, mixed with a variety of temperatures, textures and techniques all to create palette pleasing dishes.
Our 6 seat Kitchen Table is a unique and interactive experience, as you can watch and talk with the chefs preparing each course. We offer a constantly changing 9-11 course tasting menu for $120/person, an optional wine pairing for $65/person, as well as a full wine and beer list.

Amazing food, fantastic ambience, an overall wonderful, memorable dining experience. To watch the chefs work to plate each course is so much fun & the wine pairings were perfect! I can’t recommend this spot enough.

A must do at least once in your life whether you just have a cocktail in the living room or join them for "stages"!

The food was outstanding as one would expect, but the price for the portion sizes was outrageous. We knew the price going into it, but didn't expect to leave hungry. Friends have asked about our experience and I was honest that the food was outstanding, but the price was absolutely not worth it. I had also inquired to have my husband's meal to be gluten/dairy free and they advised that it would be mostly gluten free, but could not adjust to be dairy free which we understood, but were told that there would be a cheese course that had other elements to it that were not dairy. However, there were 3 courses with heavy dairy where we both ended up sick because it was so rich. Again the food was amazing, we just wished the portions were 30-50% larger to justify the price and so that we left actually full.

What a wonderful meal we had. The chef needed to do substitutions for some of the dishes and those were great. Loved Emma’s cookies.

My fiance and I could not have been more impressed with our experience at Stages. The menu was incredibly creative from start to finish and we enjoyed every single bite. Chef Hennessey and his staff were all so friendly and interacted with all of the guests throughout the night. It was clear that each of them loved what they do. Highly recommend this experience to anyone.

Chef was amazing to watch, food was impeccably prepared, and drinks were top notch. It was a great evening out and we will go back!
