A taste of Bavaria

Situated in the Westfield Knox The Bavarian is bringing a taste of Europe to city-goers. This venue is the younger brother of the well known Bavarian Bier Cafe and it's got a must faster pace and a more casual-vibey atmosphere.

The menu pays homage to the authentic taste and cuisine of Bavaria so expect plenty of hearty grub (including breakfast). Some highlights include the Bavarian tasting platter, the Uber-Schnitzel and the smokey bourbon BBQ kielbasa sausage. The bier selection is also incredible, there are almost too many to choose from, so get in at happy hour so you can test them all! This local favourite is suitable for all occasions, appropriate for after work drinks, corporate lunches and relaxed weekend meals with family and friends.

Best dish: the schnitzel meister - 1kg of crispy crumbed veal with all the sides of your choice (serves 4).

We didn't end up eating here, the food is really expensive. And you kick us out, I understand double bookings, but just an offer of being able to stay and drink in another spot would've been nice. Can't rate bar staff. Would recommend purely for the crowd

Started out craft beer we wanted not available, food was cold, 2nd order for our friends never arrived had to go and ask what was happening eventually came 15 minutes after we had finished our meal. Worst meal we have eaten

Very, very loud music that made it difficult to talk or even hear the person sitting next to you. Not a pleasant experience. Certainly would not recommend despite most of the food being excellent.

Came early for our reservation on New Year’s Eve. Sat at a barrel table near the bar and ordered some drinks before being seated. Fast bar service. Great apple cocktail for me and beer paddle great choice when you don’t know which beer to choose (there are plenty on tap!) Once seated, order at bar and receive a beeper so they know where to bring your food. Meals came out pretty quickly, were hot and tasted delicious. Took a while to have plates collected but all in all, not too bad. As there isn’t table service the waiters just serve you meals and collect your plates / glasses. Great decor and atmosphere, just a shame there are no toilets in the venue. Will go again for happy hour as the drinks are a bit expensive. Food price is what you’d expect for schnitzels and pork knuckles that size! Busy night but didn’t phase the staff. Happy diners!

Disappointed as just rebranded older restaurant. Food and beer overpriced. They have a couple of specials that make it more affordable but servings small from what I saw. If you want a Bavarian experience - go elsewhere! One big positive is special Pork Knuckle!

Food was good not great. Some meals came out after 5 minutes and some after half an hour. Picnic Tables/ chairs were very uncomfortable . Food and wine was expensive . Won’t be going back or recommending.

Nothing good to say about this place if i could give 0 stars I would.No atmosphere, small tables, no toilets on site, being asked to leave 2 minutes after eating dessert to make room for more patrons to sit down.Did not feel the Bavarian experience but I did get to know where NOT to eat and drink next time.
