The Bell Inn has always been an important part of Kersey– a hub for the community throughout the years. More than that, however, we’re a destination pub, too. People travel from far and wide to eat and drink at our establishment, and we take pride in welcoming one and all and we are also dog friendly. Located in the historic village of Kersey two miles north of Hadleigh, The Bell Inn is the perfect place to drop into whilst taking in its picturesque surroundings and lovely country walks. We’ve ample parking space to accommodate your trip and our home-cooked meals are bound to impress yourself and your guests.

Waited 45 mins for our food , apparently at end when we complained they said they were short staffed ! No communication about this , but the time out meal came we just didn’t want it …. We were going to order desserts but it was far too late and didn’t want to wait another 45 mins Very very disappointing

The Bell is an amazing restaurant in a medieval pub (founded in the 1400s, rumour has it), in the prettiest village in England - Kersey. The staff were all friendly, attentive and professional, the 2 chefs were highly skilled and very innovative, and the food was delicious. We ate there 3 times in a week and never repeated a dish from the imaginative menu - wonderful fish, lamb, beef ribs, subtle sauces. Do not miss it!

We were visiting relatives who live local who were born and bred in Kersey and thought it would be nice to dine in the Bell . Bought a drink and sat in Garden then went for our meal , after being sat at our pre booked table , we were left there for 20mins before any service spoke to us ,eventually we were told they had a large table (8 People) had just ordered and they would be a delay in taking our order. The Service was extremely poor so we decided to leave . Really frustrating !

We enjoyed a long lunch at the Bell with friends. It is a lovely pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The food is well cooked and seasonal and the service just right - friendly and well paced. We will return!

My mother and I needed comforting while we waited to hear if a loved one had pulled through surgery. We wanted somewhere warm and quiet with delicious food. We wanted a pub to support the industry. The Bell smashed the ceiling of our expectations. I nearly hugged our wonderful waitress several times. The food was exquisite - better than I’ve had anywhere in a long time and I am a proper foodie with a waistline to match. I ordered two starters and devoured them, only letting my mother have a bite because we were so nervous. Any other day, not a chance. She ordered the steak and I “helped her” with that. The chips were so good we took them home. It is a stunning setting, we sat in the garden during a biblical downpour under the umbrellas and even that felt special. Finding The Bell at Kersey was obviously a good omen because we received good news about the surgery, but if I’m honest I think I was just as happy that the food was so exceptional at a wonderful establishment served by people who deserve our thanks. I cannot recommend this highly enough - the charred peaches with burrata, the sea trout, the sea bass fillet…I might move to Kersey. Huge thanks to everybody there, we will definitely be back very soon *looks up bookings for tonight

We had a lovely meal. Very friendly and polite Land Lady. A true gem of a pub.
