   We waited over an hour for starters. 30 minutes after that, plates had not been cleared and no mains in sight so we left (along with several other tables from upstairs). Starters were average. Chicken in the wedges. Peas in the salad. Not food worthy of those prices.

   We have been back to the Edge every December when we visit Whitby pre Christmas. Always excellent night out, fantastic food, happy and friendly staff. Food is always tasty and the service is great

   Our booking via OpenTable hadn't registered as we didn't seem expected. Our table lacked condiments and wine list. The main course was well cooked but served on stone cold plates. Staff very friendly but need customer service training. Over the years The Edge has had "hot and cold" phases. This seems to be among the cooler ones.

   Table of 7, put upstairs on two tables which we moved together. Service slapdash, to say the least. Very pleasant girl who showed us to our table but really torn faced waiter who was very vocal in his feelings about not having his break... Food was mediocre - some good (seafood salad) and some not. Chicken looked as if it had been reheated a couple of times. Won’t be back. There are plenty decent restaurants in Whitby.

   Visited for an anniversary meal. Food was lovely, fresh fish and steak and a gorgeous fruit crumble for dessert. Staff were friendly and we really enjoyed it.
