Really nice meal with very friendly staff. The atmosphere at the pub was very nice and the food was well priced. We would definitely recommend and will be going back shortly.

Our first experience of eating at the Gamekeeper as we've only recently moved to the area and we loved it. Pleasantly surprised by the large room adjoining the main bar area, full of character and plenty of space. Good food at a reasonably price and attentive staff. A very enjoyable Sunday lunch and we'll be back!

The overall experience was pleasant with good dishes that were tasty and well presented however my daughter had the flat ironed steak, which was reportedly quite tough, though the rest of that meal was good. One factor sadly that I feel is very relevant for families, is that there are no baby changing facilities at all, so whilst the pub is happy to accept children and babies (they had high chairs) it does not cater entirely well for families. It is nevertheless a good pub with a unique historical feel.

Visited The Gamekeeper this afternoon and had a genuinely lovely time. The setting was warm and welcoming, with a relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy ourselves. The service was absolutely brilliant – friendly, attentive, and just the right level of chatty without being over the top. The food was okay – not bad by any means, but it didn’t quite feel like good value for money. Flavours were a bit muted and it lacked that something special you’d hope for. Still, the vibe and the service more than made up for it, and we left having had a great afternoon overall.

Unfortunately there was lots of things on the menu that were not available which was disappointing.

We had lunch with friends today. The staff were very friendly, helpful and cheerful. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend. We will be back.
