Fries were soggy and burnt. Fried chicken was not crisp. Fryers are probably not hot enough. Despite being virtually empty and having a reservation we were seated directly between two very noisy groups. Not worth downtown prices.
Best salmon I have ever had. Great service, great start to our date night.
A host at the Maison Selby in TO recommended we try the guild.
Awesome restaurant. Not disappointed.
Great service. Staff made sure our meal was perfect in every way. The food was excellent and we left feeling full and satisfied. Would definitely recommend eating here.
I’m glad that we decided to celebrate our special occasion in that amazing place.
Great service and food.
We hadn’t been to The Guild in two years, however Ryan made us feel like regulars. We were greeted with two glasses of bubbly, and complimentary deviled eggs. Our server Tristan was on top of my wife’s gluten allergy like it was his own, and provided great suggestions for food that would be able to accommodate her. Our food was delicious and cooked to perfection, I had the steak (and I’m particular about it being done rare to medium rare at most) while my wife had the grilled octopus. We ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert to share and again we were given glasses of port on the house to pair with the dessert. I don’t think a dining experience gets better than this.
It had been two years since our last time at The Guild, and I promise we won’t be waiting that long to return. Amazing service, amazing food, for an amazing experience overall. A+!
Took a LONG time to get our food out, even though the restaurant was not busy. Side salad was sent back to the kitchen as it was just a small dish of greens with dressing on it. Don't call it it a salad if it's a few leaves of lettuce. Management did provide cakes to celebrate a birthday which was appreciated. Won't be going back based on wait times to get food, which was excessive for some burgers.
Nice Feel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went for the burger fest and we’re not disappointed. They had options for everyone. Food was fantastic, service was fantastic, atmosphere was enjoyable.
Burnt small pieces of fries..the pizza burger taste disgusting.
Best service is ever! Our server Tristan was amazing!
Great quality ingredients and attentive service.
Ambiance and service was great, very friendly and niche appeal. Very unimpressed with the food. My party of 6 was one of three occupied tables for context. The kitchen managed to burn/char all of our fries for multiple orders, the soup was overly spiced, and the burgers came out luke warm and rather dry. Unsure if our order was forgotten under the warming lamps for an extended time or what transpired but I was an unfortunate meal.
We were at the restaurant early as we were going to a concert. Service was efficient. Noise level was pleasant and allowed us to have a pleasant conversation.
Food was very tasty. Tomatoe(boccocinie) Salad was very different ..not our favorite. Burger was delicious. Fries outstanding. We had fish and chips and also the grilled salmon. All very good.
The Television sets don’t seem to suit this very pretty restaurant..they weren’t too loud but seemed out of place.
We had an amazing dinner! We had a great selection of cocktails during happy hour that were unique and tasty - suggested by our server. Then we started with the warm spinach salad - if that was the only thing I ate that evening that would have been enough, it was so delicious. I chose the steak and my husband has the ribs - we were so happy with our choices. The meat was properly done and the sides were excellent. We did end with a desert and it, too, was above par. I totally recommend The Guild - if you want to eat out don't go to the same old same old, try something new and taste what a proper restaurant can offer!
Food was very good. 8th avenue cocktail mango sour was disgusting. Hardly any mango flavour and it tasted like burnt tequila. Felt like the server could of asked how you like your fried egg as it’s not specified how it’s cooked. Like don’t assume everyone likes it sunny side up.
Steaks are amazing here.
Great service. Nice lively place.
Way to long to bring out salads.
Our waitress was fantastic!!!! Food was sooooo flavorful and delicious!!! Thank you for the great experience.
Good food good service but expensive for lunch. Need to bring down the wine priced
My food was cold. The chicken was dry and there was no juice on anything. The potatoes were very dry and overcooked. I had to ask for gravy to put on my meal. It took a very long time to get our meal.
Amazing staff! Everyone went above and beyond to help us have a great time. Delicious food and lots of options.
The food was very mediocre. I had carbonara pasta yesterday and it was totally overcooked , salty. Everything looked like a bowl of mashed potatoes
Love the guild we always have an amazing experience there whenever we go, so sad though that the escargot left the menu I crave only the one from the guild, but it keeps leaving the menu... I am not sure if it’s seasonal but I wish it’s there all the time!!!
Service and food was excellent. Great for business meetings. Good choice and variety of food choices. Would definitely recommend the restaurant for a night out.
After having been here many times for lunch, tonight was a disappointing experience. Despite being very quiet (about 6 tables) service wasn’t very attentive. Thanks to the open kitchen concept it was clear the kitchen wasn’t busy at all, yet it took quite some time for our appetizer to arrive. It looked like it was just standing on a counter. By the time it was being served, it came together with the main dishes and we were no longer interested in it (it got removed from the bill). My wife’s lamb burger with fries was ok but not very warm, it must have been standing somewhere waiting to be served. My “porky” pizza was good though a thinner crust would have made it better. The kitchen chef blowing his nose and not washing his hands before returning to the kitchen was a big no-no. Don’t think I’ll be back here.
Enjoyed the grilled octopus. My guest enjoyed the squash soup.
The Guild exceeded our expectations and more. The manager Katie provided us with the most outstanding service we’ve ever received, including our server. Our anniversary was acknowledged and treated with the utmost respect and we felt like royalty. The food was spectacular and exactly what we were looking for. From the moment we walked in the door, until we left we felt right at home and the atmosphere was extraordinary. I highly recommended The Guild to everyone.
Great service and food!
Thanks for the great ambience and even more amazing food
Our manhattans and devilled eggs were great to start and Main dishes were excellent. The beets we ordered with the main dishes were very good. The caeser salad we also ordered was very dry; not much flavour to the point that I thought at first the dressing was forgotten altogether. It was extremely loud in the restaurant and we weren't even sure our waitress could hear what we were saying; we were ready to order and she nearly walked away as we were talking as she couldn't hear us (or she wasn't paying attention.) We were also on the lower part of the restaurant - a note would be for the bussers/wait staff: if you're cleaning the upper tables please watch where/how you spray the cleaner - we got hit with the bleach or windex or whatever it was while you were cleaning the table above us (thank goodness our food wasn't on our tables yet.)
We've been to The Guild before and our first experience was much more positive than this second visit. I would try again but I'm not in as much in a rush to come back.
Happy hour was great value!
Had a great time with Shyanna, we had a stellar moment with her & it was awesome.
From the welcome to the end, excellent cordial amicable and fast service. Pablo, our server was great, attentive, patient and accommodating.
The food is really good, the octopus was done just right !! Octopus is tricky as it can become too chewy or to slimy if over/undercooked , well , not at the guild, I am super happy with the way such dish was done. The sides of the mushrooms and the beets were flavorful and great sized.
Happily will return
We went there with our manager as she had never been there. She really liked it and enjoyed the evening.
It was my mom’s birthday and I booked a reservation at The Guild for lunch. Our server seemed to be more interested in chatting with her coworkers. It took us about 20 minutes until we got our order. My mom ordered a Caesar and it came out too spicy. They brought another one but it was still too spicy, so she ordered a coffee. It took about 10 minutes to get and then the server forgot cream, which took another 10 minutes and she forgot a spoon too, which she grabbed after. The food was nice and tasty, which wasn’t the problem, it was the lack of service. Whenever I was looking around trying to get our servers attention, she was chatting and none of the other servers came to help out. I was really disappointed as I had come before after work for appies and the service was great. I am definitely turned off from returning after this experience.
It was a really good meal!
Great food a bit in the pricey side though but I knew that before. Service was average nothing exceptional for a Wednesday evening.
