   I'm very happy to recommend The Moorhen. It was quiet the evening we were there but deserves to do much better. The food was delicious and served with good cheer. The restaurant is in a converted barn which has been done very sylishly indeed. Tip for people staying in nearby Staithes: there is a footpath across the fields opposite the Coop which leads directly to the restaurant so you can drink happily and roll home.

   A lovely friendly welcome upon arrival, the food was well presented, freshly made and delicious. Plenty of time to relax and eat. Would highly recommend.

   Reminded of a school canteen but with worse food. Mussel dish served with an unopened mussel. Grilled chicken tough overcooked and dry. Vinegar was in a sachet at these prices expected a bottle. No beers on the menu or prices. Needs a serious overhaul.

   Loved the themed menu and the fact that we were staying on site with a restaurant on our doorstep that was a massive selling point for us. Some feedback I would suggest is some music. The place is small and once other patriots leave the silence fills. Especially for the themed night a little Italian background music would of been perfect! A member of our party is Gluten free and she was well taken care of, she felt safe and left full. If you do an Italian night again you should consider doing an anti pasti board on the menu and maybe investing in a pizza oven or homemade dough. As the pizza dough tasted like it had been frozen (it wasn't a soft base and crust). However the range of pizza's you had on offer would of fit anyone's taste, I personally had the goats cheese and mushroom it was great! Maybe an option to create your own pizza choice or topping add on's would be a great addition. Overall if we come to the area again we will be returning to Seaton Hall we had a wonderful stay and a wonderful meal on site.

   We had an early doors deal. Very good value and excellent service. Highly recommend.

   Lovely upmarket food and great service. Surprisingly, not very busy which did mean a lack of atmosphere, but I'm sure as word gets round that the moorhen is open in the evenings it will get busier.

   Fantastic food, lovely friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a little wait for our food but everything was fresh and we were happy to wait in such a relaxed environment! Thank you for the great food and service!
