Located in the heart of historic St. James and Westminster, Emmeline’s at Conrad London St. James is situated within a historic 19th century building, which was once Queen Anne's Chamber.

Emmeline's is filled with fanciful floral creations that emulate the chic whimsical space, with love seats, mood lighting and quirky sculptures. The stylish decor and the lenticular print of Alice in Wonderland in St James's Park make for a perfect setting for afternoon tea. Our Executive Head Pastry Chef and her team bring an array of mouth-watering savoury and sweet treats, adding new levels of sophistication to this most quintessentially classic of British culinary experiences. Served daily the contemporary Afternoon Tea is inspired by the glorious seasons displayed in St. James’s Park and events in London.

Our champagne afternoon tea is complimented by G.H. Mumm Champagne, an official supplier of champagne to Her Majesty.

    I went for Afternoon Tea with a friend visiting from the states. There was a great deal going where the full Afternoon tea experience was 62GBP (no alcohol included) in total for the both of us! The decor was elegant and minimal, gorgeous cutlery and ceramics, great selection of quiet tunes playing in the background and a spacious room. We left completely stuffed. The sandwiches were delicious besides the one with extremely overpowering horseradish. The scones were my favourite of everything that was served. They were served warm and tasted freshly made. There were four different types with a generous serving of clotted cream, jam, and lemon curd. The assorted desserts were also good, with the Victoria Sponge being my favourite. I highly recommend The Orchard Room for Afternoon tea but I personally wouldn't return if it were priced at 62GBP per person.

    Everything was great. We booked the bottomless champagne infinitea festive afternoon tea. The sandwiches were lovely, whereas the pastries were quite disappointing. There was a few flavors combinations that just didn’t work out and too sweet for our palette. The warm scones with clotted cream and jam were bomb !! Overall a very pleasant experience !

    While I'm no foodie, and afternoon tea food is often bland, the food at the Orchard Room was barely edible. The sandwiches were not fresh and the sweets all creamy and bland.

    Underwhelming afternoon tea experience. Soggy, over-priced sandwiches and poor service. Slow and rude waiter who would benefit from a lesson in etiquette at a so-called 5 star hotel. Service was so appalling, I asked for the service charge to be removed as a matter of principle.

    This place is an absolute gem for afternoon tea. Brought my aunty for her 70th birthday, food was lovely and the service friendly and attentive. I've been here several times and it always delivers. Thank you for consistently being fantastic.

    The Orchard Room is a lovely part of the Conrad Hotel. We arrived for our afternoon tea, unsure of where to go and the lovely gentleman from the concierge walked us to The orchard Room. He then spoke to a man in a black suit to let him know we had arrived and our booking name. However what happened next was not professional. He was telling the concierge gentlemen to take us to our seats and kept pointing at the table, as though he was too busy. There was only one other table having afternnoon tea! Eventually another gentlemen appeared in a grey waistcoat and took us to our table. We were then advised that whatever we didn’t consume we could take home. Fast forward… we were then advised at the end that we couldn’t take anything home. We felt that the conversation previously taken place, was conflicting. I don’t mean to say, but the gentlemen could hardly speak English, so there was a little confusion his end. We booked The Orchard Room from an instagram recommendation. The afternoon tea is £65. For this price we would have expected from the beginning to be shown to our seats, as oppose to to the Manager being ‘too busy’ and palming his duties off onto the concierge. On a positive note the afternoon tea was excellent. The table display, the crockery was simply outstanding. We will not return sadly.

    Le décor était bien . Le service agréable mais ce fut très long avant de recevoir notre nourriture et malgré que la quantité n’était pas limitée, cela prenait beaucoup de temps avant de recevoir des bouchées supplémentaires. Nous étions 3 personnes et on a reçu qu’un seul plateau alors que nous avons payé pour 3 .

    We enjoyed our afternoon tea on quiet Friday afternoon. The foot was tasty and freshly made with good selection of teas. As we booked with voucher we also had bottle of Champagne with our tea. Unfortunately there was no atmosphere in the room as there was only one more guest. The ‘radio’ music stopped playing after 4pm and it didn’t help with already very quiet and empty room. The service was attentive but provided by 3 different servers as the shifts changed. Overall worth a visit with voucher
