The Plot team is led by Jessica and Davin Waite, who have been at the forefront of San Diego's culinary scene for over a decade. The duo has earned a loyal following for their inventive and sustainable approach to seafood and plant-based dishes, gaining the attention of critics and culinary innovators far and wide as well as accolades including being named San Diego Magazine’s “Best New Restaurant of the Year” in 2020, VegNews’ “San Diego’s Best Vegan Restaurants” in 2022, and Tasting Table’s “20 Best Restaurants in San Diego” in 2023.

The Plot in Costa Mesa is located in The Camp, a sustainably focused center that highlights unique local businesses. Parking can be a bit tough at The Camp, depending on the time of your visit. In addition to parking in the main lot, Randolph Ave. is another option. Customers can walk through Camp Out into The Camp. Also, Valet service is available in the main lot. The price is $8. Valet is available Thursday through Sunday.

Great veg food as usual. Brussels sprouts are a must. Tried the KBBQ chicken sandwich and it was huge. Very little on the sandwich, but it’s good. Nice atmosphere, staff is great. If you go for dinner be prepared to park offsite.

Was a bit disappointed, left a note it was my birthday, my mom tried to call about it being my birthday (wasn’t able to speak to anyone) and it wasn’t acknowledged at all it really bothers me when you make a note about a special occasion and it’s ignored. Really love The Plot but the server, ambiance and feeling special was poor this visit. Food was fine, mocktails took forever to come out, but made me think twice about wanting to pick this location to celebrate at in the future. Now that gracias Madre is gone, The Plot was my go to for a nice sit down vegan restaurant but I may have to look for another option. Sad!

Great service, even better food!! 😍 We live far so we don’t often but we’re hoping to see more locations open closer to the Los Angeles area!

Food was good. Service could have been better considering it was not very busy while we dined. It just felt like we were bothering our server, which does not make us feel great. We have dined here multiple times, and at the Oceanside location, but i just don't know if it is worth coming back if we are treated like we are bugging the staff.

This is the best elevated plant-based dining in Orange County! We ordered 3 apps, 4 entrees and all 3 desserts. This is a perfect place to celebrate the best days or just have an awesome meal.

We had delicious Korean barbecue with plant based “meat” as the main course and savory cauliflower as an appetizer. The almond flour cake for dessert was delicious too, and paired well with Cinnamon Plum herbal tea. The dishes were beautiful as well as tasty.

Another excellent experience at The Plot - my second visit and first for lunch. Tip of the cap to our fabulous server, Carissa (sp?), who kept kindly checking on us and bringing over replacement waters on a warm day on the patio.

I'm a regular here. Set up a reservation for 8 after the OC marathon for brunch. Fantastic service, AMAZING food, and dog-friendly. Most of the people in my party had not been here yet and were pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoyed their meal. I cannot recommend this place enough, whether for brunch, date night, or takeout for lunch. I didn't order it for brunch (because the pancake is the way to go), but for any other meal the burger is a must.

Every time I eat at this restaurant, I’m continually impressed. Creativity is unmatched, quality is always exceptional, service is consistently excellent. If you haven’t eaten here yet, let this review be your reason to try it out. Great value and keeps us coming back! Thank you.

Service was subpar - had to get up and ask waiter to order and for the bill twice. They were training someone that day, so it might be why but the service was bad despite 20% capacity. We should have been checked on more frequently, given how they werent busy. The food took 30-40 mins to come out as well, which as quite long for the amount of customers in the restaurant. Chef was nice and gave us a free sample of some items and the ambiance was nice.
