   Outstanding service, delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, sadly somewhat compromised by fellow diners who felt it necessary to converse excessively loud - the only negative in an otherwise enjoyable experience. Will definitely go again to sample more of the food which was perfectly prepared and a delight to savour! A big thank you to Nige and his team. Excellent value for money.

   This is now the 3rd meal we have had at the Walton arms and it has been consistently good. Food has always been excellent I feel good value for money for great food. The ambiance is nice low music you can still have a conversation over. Staff all polite and helpful I would highly recommend and will be going back

   Came to the Walton Arms for a birthday celebration service was excellent , good choice of food reasonable price only fault was pastry burnt on Apple pie .

   All four chose Fish & Chips, ( Line caught COD ), from the main menu asking for it to be lightly battered. When served there was as much batter as fish but we decided to sample it anyway. The fish was very thin & dry was difficult to separate from the batter & didn't taste at all like COD. The waitress at the start of the meal did ask were we satisfied but it was too soon for us to comment. We ploughed on, one of the party actually finished the meal but the other three left theirs half complete. The very pleasant waitress noticed this and enquired what was wrong when we told her she provided free coffee on the house while she reported to the kitchen & sorted out the bill with compensation for the poor food. So while I can recommend the ambience of the building and the courteousness of the staff I would be dubious about recommending the Walton Arms due to the quality of the food. Hopefully this was just a one off that we were unfortunate to have experienced.

   The starter was adequate. My date got the wrong starter but this was replaced. The main course was good however, there was a problem with one of the components as there was no chunky chips available otherwise this meal was ok.

   Good food, although the service was a little slow. Wasn't exceptionally busy so couldn't understand the delay; appreciate food is cooked from fresh, but over an hour's wait for food is not really acceptable, especially as this was a working lunch.

    No knowledge of the table booking even though I had received a number of emails and texts from Open table, fortunately this was not a problem as there were available tables. We waited nearly 50 minutes for our festive Christmas turkey meal. The meat was dry one carrot and parsnip, one pig in blanket, spuds and some sprouts. It was tasty,as so much that we were hungry,but it was as if the whole plate had just been microwaved with a jug of gravy on the side, it could easily have been so much better. Christmas Pudding was alright but again nothing special, and again had a long wait before the pud appeared. Front of house staff were very friendly and the decor and ambience was good but with plenty of other food establishments we will not be returning.
