Die Vorspeise kam nach dem Hauptgang, nichts war wirklich frisch zubereitet, das “Pilsner” war ein IPA, der Lärmpegel war unerträglich. Geschmeckt hat es, aber das war’s dann auch.

We came in for a late dinner and were greeted by a stylish, rustic-chic atmosphere — think farmhouse meets city lounge. It’s buzzing but not too loud, perfect for conversation. Now the food: the Chicken ‘n’ Watermelon ‘n’ Waffles is as over-the-top as it sounds and absolutely worth the hype. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and crispy, the waffles light and savory, and the watermelon with a little spice adds a surprisingly addictive twist. We also tried the Deviled Eggs and the Lobster Mac & Cheese — rich, flavorful, and generously portioned. Drinks were a highlight — their Old Fashioned is bourbon-forward and balanced, and the Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade was fresh with just the right kick. Service was sharp, friendly, and fast, even on a busy night. Our server gave honest recommendations and made sure we felt taken care of without hovering. In a city full of dining options, Yardbird D.C. feels like a Southern escape with big-city polish. Great for a date night, out-of-town guests, or just spoiling yourself a bit.
