   Scallops with lobster Mac and cheese was outstanding. Service was top notch and we enjoyed the outside dining that is now fortunately covered

   Mother’s Day made special by Johnathan our server. Always the food is a cut above the rest Johnathan was there 1 minute before we thought we was of need Simply more than expected and we always expect a lot from the Ref Fish. Don and Bonnie Wexford SC

   The entrees were poor. My crab cake was actually very fishy tasting. My plate was 3/4s covered with fries. Several of my guests had shrimp burgers which we so over seasoned they could not eat. And one guest had a steak which was described as just ok. The appetizers were good though. We’ve eaten there every year we go to HHI but this year was a big miss.

   This visit was our third attempt for a good meal at Red Fish. Each attempt has been disappointing. We wanted a well prepared fish like grouper or red fish. nothing fancy just good fish. For a fish-named restaurant, there were only 4-5 fish dishes on the menu and more meat dishes. The grouper menu item was blackened with chili oil... spicey with red peas ??? and broccolini. We ordered the grouper not blackened and sauce on the side. Two large pieces of grouper were served in a bowl on a bed a red peas with broccolini on the side of the bowl. Red peas are like black eyed peas. not a favorite and too heavy with grouper. The chili sauce on the side was HOT. In the end, the grouper was DRY and hard to eat on top of the peas. Red Fish ruined a good piece of grouper. Red Fish food is very sub par to Charlies in fish preparation. Disappointing and expensive.

   Had another great meal at Redfish. I come hear every year we come to HHI. This year we brought another couple that have never been there. I asked for a nice table and did they deliver. We sat in their wine room. The atmosphere was great. That was one thing but we came to eat and the food all around was excellent. The new couple had the shrimp and grits and red snapper. My wife and I had the salmon and crab cakes. All in terms of taste and presentation was excellent. Desserts were also fabulous. All around an excellent meal.

   A wonderful atmosphere. Friendly staff. We ordered the fried oysters and the coconut shrimp appetizers. The entrees were the shrimp and grits and the scallops. Everything was very good.

   This has been our go to restaurant for years but tonight was not good. Food was not hot. Fries were limp and crab cakes were boring and tasteless. There are too many great restaurants on the island so I won’t waste my time and money on this one again.

    Food was delicious as always. We mentioned it was our 50th anniversary dinner but no mention and no offer of free dessert and we were disappointed.
