The University of the South

Judith is a new American tavern pairing warm hospitality and the cooking of James Beard Nominated Chef Julia Sullivan (Henrietta Red in Nashville) located in the quiet area of Sewanee, TN near the University of the South. The name is an homage to Judith Ward Lineback, the first woman to matriculate into the University in 1969.

As Sullivan’s first solo project, Judith will feature a seasonal menu of creative and approachable dishes including a selection of small, shareable plates perfect for the bar crowd. The beverage program mirrors the food with accessible wines and a cocktail list created by Henrietta Red's Beverage Manager Patrick Halloran.

The warehouse-style building, previously the Old Steam Laundry which serviced the University since the 1950’s, has additional space for private dining and parties. With the goal of becoming a meeting place for students, faculty, tourists and the Sewanee community alike, the restaurant will be open for dinner from Thursday - Monday.

Eine Karte mit Cocktails nach Art des Hauses mit klassischen und saisonalen Getränken, einer umfangreichen Sammlung von seltenen Premium-Spirituosen sowie einer Auswahl an importierten und einheimischen Bieren genießen Sie hier ebenfalls.

We are a polished casual restaurant that is locally owned. We had a vision to bring exceptional food to Clarksville. We took our years of restaurant experience and developed a menu ambiance and taste like no other in Clarksville. With a spacious concrete bar top that just screams at you to be sat it and eat great food and drink cold beer and watch one of 11 TVs. Guests have the option to sit in the dining room phase of Clyde's that is more for families and date nights, without the distractions of tv's so you may talk as a family and or talk with that first date. The dimness of the restaurant is only so you may decide your lighting at your table with your personal lamp that has four light settings that you can decide on.
