Das Chamard Vineyards wurde im Jahre 1983 gegründet und ist eines der Gründungsväter des Connecticut Wine Trails. Eingebettet zwischen dem Meeresarm Long Island Sound und dem Fluss Connecticut River genießt das Chamard ein einzigartiges Meeresmikroklima, ideal für den Anbau von europäischen Vinifera-Reben wie Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot und Pinot Noir. Die Herstellung von „französisch inspirierten Weinen aus dem Küstenstreifen Connecticut Shoreline“ war von Anfang an die Mission des Chamard. Als Bauernhof honoriert das Chamard die Landwirtschaft zusammen mit anderen Erzeugern und Produzenten, um Connecticuts Gastronomie durch eine Paarung von Speisen mit Weinen zu zelebrieren.
