Cut above for quality in a sushi restaurant. Specialty abalone and sashimi sampler were very much enjoyed
Food was great and tasty. Service is fast. Will definitely go back ❤️
Great lunch with a business colleague. Always the freshest fish and tastiest dishes with a focus on simplicity and the highest quality.
Great ambience, quite environment. Must go for Sushi.
Very fresh sashimi and excellent spicy roll
Bit expensive side for sushi restaurant but excellent service
I don't eat Sushi but my co-workers do - so this was a fantastic spot for me to still be able to join them - the Gyoza was excellent - they have lots of options for the non-seafood lover. It was however quite loud so if you are hard of hearing - may not be for you!
Service was sort of bland, waitress did not seem very enthused and had very little to say about recommendations. The place empty for a weekday night, and the ambiance music a bit too loud in light of the atmosphere. Given the great looking instagram posts and other reviews this place ha,s it would be nice for its servers to be as knowledgeable or willing to make suggestions? All in all food was fine but not amazing. Felt portions could be a bit bigger given the cost. Would come back but not overly excited to do so.
The Bento box is so good. Really tasty and lots of food.
I took my staff here for our Christmas dinner and the entire experience was fantastic! Such a cool place!
Excellent service and love the variation on the menu with daily specials
Food was good but not something I would return for. The place was empty for a mid week night and had a very sad atmosphere. I total server was a little scattered but the server that replaced the original was wonderful. Even went as far as to teach our table more about sake and the different types.
As always everything was excellent. The quality of the fish is great and the service spot on. This a family run restaurant that cares about providing its customers the best they can offer. Fully deserving to be one of OpenTables top 100 restaurants in Canada.
We always eat at Sukiyaki House when we visit Calgary. I have been a fan since the early 1980s at its original location. It was also the go to restaurant in the Bank nightclub. The food and the staff are the best! If you are dying for uni, this is the place. It usually comes in on Wednesdays and there should be enough for everyone unless I get there first!
The Best in Calgary. Japanese fish flown in daily. Great staff who care about their customers. Food is on point. Whiskey and Sake list great. It was a busy lunch rush in the restaurant today. But we were and are always treated like gold.
Great service and excellent sushi. Worked great for a customer dinner as the table was spacious and the noise level was very good for conversations.
Good food, but it’s too loud. Daily trio never disappoints.
We would like to order the sukiyaki for dinner. But the server wasn’t so nice about that we didn’t put a note about ordering sukiyaki when we made reservations. There isn’t any sign and any sentence on the website or here about we need to tell the restaurant before. And at the end we need to wait another 20 mins to another table so we can have a pot for the sukiyaki. I would suggest the restaurant to either put a sign on the menu so people will know to tell the restaurant about it.
Everything was delicious, really fresh, beautifully presented, and served quickly. The tempura was perfect and plentiful, the rolls were great (the Stampede rolls were our favourite), and even the miso soup and salad that came with my awesome sashimi meal were excellent! The staff were very friendly too. We had wonderful time, we will be back for sure.
Amazing food and service. I keep going back.
Everything, including the service and food quality was very good, but wasn't quite outstanding. It was very busy and loud, but that's the sign of a good restaurant at lunchtime. We never had to ask for anything from the servers, and the tea was always hot. Food quality versus value for the buck was good, but for the price, it wasn't quite there. All around, it was a very good experience and our first time there. We probably will be back.
Amazing sushi. Plan for 90 minute lunch
Wait staff were outstanding, keeping fresh hot tea and water supplied throughout the meal. They were neither absent nor “in our face”, with just the right touch.
Food was excellent, a little more expensive than the chop sushi shops downtown, but you get what you pay for.
It was a little noisy for a business lunch given the very open atmosphere, but overall quite manageable. Would definitely go back
Food ordered at the same time but came out inconsistently and took time. Noise level was very high and difficult to hear.
Great traditional sukiyaki! Really enjoyed the food and drink!
It was a lovely experience, and the staff was friendly and personable. Food came quickly for the busy lunch hours and tasted great! A good place for lunch with friends. Overall, an amazing experience and would definitely come back again.
Excellent food and our server Judith was great! We had a very enjoyable evening.
Received the worse customer service ever. Do not recommend!
The food was great and the service was exceptional. Justin and Hannah are very friendly and prompt with their service. We would highly recommend it to others.
Hands down favorite place in Calgary. GREAT service great food, and very authentic cuisine
Always the best! Thank you for great food and great service.
The food was good, but a little pricey. Service was ok.
This was by far the loudest restaurant that I have ever been and subsequently I will not be returning to this restaurant. This was a business lunch and both my customer and I were one step short of yelling at each other, exhausting.
The food itself was good, and the price was okay for the value however service was slightly slow and not entirely attentive.
We came for beef tataki (Wahgu) and sashimi and was not disappointed. Good service and quality ingredients. The menu offered less pricey options too.
Great owner and staff. The best sushi in Calgary. These people know their stuff and how to do it well. Excellent traditional sushi and some creative new dishes.
Food very tasty, had the special of the day, wine very good. Service very good and good value for money.
Great sushi. Excellent service. I would highly recommend everyone that enjoys Japanese to try this place. We were there to celebrate the end of school. My 6 and 8 year old loved it.
First time here and it was a really great experience. We really wanted to try one of the pressed sushi’s on the menu but it was sold out. Our server asked us what type of fish we would like to see on pressed sushi and asked the chef if he could make it for us. Sure enough he did! Was not expecting that at all, very accommodating and nice atmosphere all around. The servers were very attentive. There wasn’t one dish that we were unsatisfied with. Highly recommend!
Underwhelming and expensive
Should advice customer on fresh items that have been sold out or non available as per menu sheet. Substitute without notice is not a good practice.
Always great. Our go to sushi place in Calgary. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Professional Japanese sushi chefs that know what they are doing. Lots of variety on the menu and some very good saki.
