We had an incredible meal and our wait staff was wonderful!
Our waiter was amazing. The food selection was delicious. The waiter told us about the specials. I ended up getting the soft shell crab. I would highly recommend. It was well seasoned and complimented with a nice side salad.
Beautiful restaurant with a delicious menu and attentive service. Would highly recommend for dinner or late night sushi hour.
The menu was limited, it as a neighborhood bar vibe and the decor is fairly outdated.
1st waiter was rude, unprofessional, unfriendly and not helpful in answering our questions about the menu. 2nd waiter was attentive.
Great service. Very vegan friendly. Prices were reasonable. Great contemporary upscale restaurant. Great menu with exceptional flavors. Will definitely come back
I ordered the New York steak and it was sent well done didn’t realize till I got home to eat it and it is currently still in fridge.
Birthday: Service and food was great as always.
Our group was fairly large (8) and they were very accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their brunch - the craft cocktails were especially good!
We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation time. The restaurant is charming, lots of wood, very old world style. We were there to celebrate our son's graduation from George Washington U. My son asked the waiter about 2 appetizers and was told that one of them would take about 15 minutes to prepare. We were hungry so we opted for the other that should be ready within minutes. It took almost 15 minutes to get the quicker appetizer, the banana bread. It was excellent. About 20 minutes later the waiter came to inform me that they ran out of smoked salmon and my Norwegian Benedict cannot be delivered. I don't know why it took more than 20 minutes to find that out. I selected the falafel sandwich. It was delivered, by itself, in about 10 minutes. Nothing for the rest of the group. About 5 minutes later everyone's meals, including a 2nd falafel sandwich, were delivered. The chicken sandwich was cold. We waited for that to be remedied for at least 15 minutes. While telling the waiter that we were not really impressed with the restaurant, he mentioned that someone in the kitchen quit on the spot and they were scrambling to get things done. One of the managers delivered the chicken sandwich and we told him that things were more amiss than they were right. We were there to celebrate and it just wasn't what we expected. He apologized, again said that they had an issue in the kitchen and offered to comp our meals. When we were finished, the waiter brought the check, told us that it's been taken care of and that was that. No one asked us if we wanted a dessert. Granted, they may not have wanted to comp that as well, but we felt like they were no longer interested in us as customers.
There were many grads in the restaurant. It would have been nice for the restaurant to offer them a special dessert, even a scoop of ice cream to recognize them.
We selected The Hamilton based on the fact that it was a Clyde's group restaurant, which we always enjoy. Won't be returning.
I took my fiancée there for her birthday. It was a Sunday so we were there for brunch. It was GW graduation weekend so the restaurant was quite crowded, however we were seated immediately since we had reservations. The restaurant was somewhat noisy due to the crowd, however we were able to close the doors at our booth for a much quieter and more intimate experience.
Our server (Adia) was great. She was very knowledgable about the menu and gave us excellent recommendations based on our stated desires. She was attentive, but not intrusive which is always appreciated. The food was well seasoned and tasted good. However, be forewarned that the sausage is very spicy if you decide to have the shrimp and grits.
We had a very nice experience in a very n8ce restaurant. Definitely recommend.
Always a wonderful experience.
The Hamilton never fails to exceed my highest expectations! Our server Annie was lovely and brunch was delicious. We will be back!
Great brunch. Staff was attentive! Appetizers and meals were all great. Nice environment. We will definitely go back.
The food was cold and service slow.
We enjoyed a good evening and good meal; had never been to the Hamilton before. We probably wouldn’t book again as it wasn’t overly special to us. What stood out was the service, Bella was our server and she was wonderful!
Absolutely delicious food in a beautifully appointed restaurant.
Excellent restaurant in all ways! Food was outstanding (we sampled several sushi, sashimi, nigiri as well as the bay scallops), service was very attentive, prompt, and friendly. We has a booth with doors, which was fun and far quieter than the main open area. All in all, a great place to dine! See the attached photos.
Maximilian was a great server and food was great as always.
A bit too loud in the restaurant at dinnertime, but otherwise a great spot with great food!
Very loud, but I know that. It always is. Great food. But total bummer: gum on floor right under my table. Ugh.
Great place to go with a group. Great food selection! Very tasty. I always have a great experience when I go there!
Our server was great. Despite crowd, we got our food in a timely manner. Food was terrific! Only downside is the how loud it was! I could hardly hear my friend and we were 12” apart. Even the busy DC Street was quieter. For this reason, I will only return during off/peak.
Love The Hamilton. On this night my food was tasty but not hot. Service was great!
The service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent.
As always, the service and atmosphere was perfect to catch up with an old friend. However, this is the first time my food arrived jumbled up — as if it had slid to the side of the plate. It was tasty but didn’t appear very appetizing...but it did not stop me from eating every morsel!!
This is a safe choice for consistently good food and service. Our server was especially fast and attentive. Great place for a business lunch.
Really great service! The food and the atmosphere is incredible.
Great experience - awesome service - delicious food.
I went for Mother’s Day dinner. It was lovely and we got one of the private booths separated by doors. Portion sizes were normal. Sides cost extra. Sushi and fish is probably what is best here. Also boozy milkshake was a fitting end of the meal.
Fantastic food, fantastic happy hour specials. Love this place!! One down fall service can be slow at times.
Thank you for reading and following my instructions when I asked for a booth 😄👍🏾
My wife and I loved the dining experience at the Hamilton. Yes we will be back very soon
Overall my guest and I were very please with the service and food at the Hamilton. The atmosphere and attitude of the employee (waiter) was excellent. I wold recommend the Hamilton to anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly lunch or dinner. Thank You.
The Hamilton is one of my favorite go-to spots in DC. I love it here and chose this restaurant for my Mother's Day meal. It was worth it and we had a lovely brunch! We'll be back. It's really that simple.
We were there for Mother's Day brunch from out of town, and everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!
I read about this restaurant on CNN travel section so decided to give it a try. My family went there for Sunday brunch. Very classic looking place without being rigid. We sat at a booth next to a big window. The booth came with hooks for the coats. Very nice! :-) The waiter was friendly and professional. I tired a quiche and my wife ordered fried chicken per waiter's recommendation. Quiche came with spinach. Quiche had the right amount of moisture. It didn't fall apart when I picked it up with a fork or too dry. Spinach was fresh and tasty. Also tried my wife's fried chicken. it was sandwiched between biscuit and eggs on the bed of gravy. Chicken was definitely fried but not greasy. Very light and tender. Perfect to dip into the gravy. You won't go hungry eating this. Also, they serve great coffee. it was strong aroma but gentle enough for me to drink black and that doesn't happen very often. The best part was that my picky eating teenager said she would come back to this place to eat. Now that's saying a lot.
First time at The Hamilton and the restaurant dining experience was ok. My husband ordered soft shell crab that came with a salad and I ordered filet mignon with grilled asparagus. The food was good nothing extraordinary and I wish our food came out hot. Our server just did the bare minimum to take care of us. The decor inside was lovely and the bar area was a nice place to hang afterwards. Hostess table was friendly. Would come back for drinks.
The food was great but don’t order the Monks Martini- tastes like spearmint listerine. Told the server and she didn’t take it back.
