Our first visit to Gael and Grain was indeed a memorable one, our server, once he had escorted us to our table, told us what we about order,as he had been informed of our preferences by a colleague who knew us from a restaurant he had worked in which we visited weekly. The food was great, of a higher standard than most pub grub offerings that some nearby establishments offer. Lovely place, good quality furnishings and decor, really friendly, efficient staff and we're looking forward to our next visit.

Always a good staple when I’m in Edinburgh- lovely vibe, nice staff and service , decent wine list and a good set meal Combo to choose from with 2 or 3 courses. Personally I liked the haggis balls previously to the more potato content croquet on the menu this time for a more flavourful witty starter Definitely a good place for a meal to enjoy

Sunday roast was lovely I had a small plate which was totally perfect for me. Loved the Yorkshire pudd

This was our first time visiting since the refurbishment and were blown away by both the quality of produce and the finished article. The wait staff were delightful and attentive. We’ll be back soon.

Always a delight to go to Moonwake, especially for the monthly Pub Quiz! The staff are always friendly and attentive, and are very knowledgable and accommodating when it comes to helping you decide which of their various beers would best suit you. The quiz itself is also a consistent treat, with an engaging host who, despite some occasional technical issues, handles the entire affair with an effortless humour. If nothing else, come for the quiz and stay for the brews!
