Lovely lunchtime experience for a special occasion

Exceptional in every way. I’ve reviewed Ember several times previously and as my visits approach 30 since it opened, I can honestly say it’s the most amazing experience. Cooking over open fire provides a special ambiance. The chefs and front of house team are friendly, knowledgeable and really great. Above all, the food is fabulous. We do small plates dining and share our choices in order to get the best experience. Starters, fish, meats and vegetables are all wonderful - you may need Google to learn about some of the unusual ingredients - or just ask the staff. The menu changes regularly as they take advantage of the best seasonal produce. Leave room for a dessert though. The sticky toffee pudding is very special and always on the menu so it’s a toss up to decide whether to order it or one of the other fabulous puddings.

The best food I have eaten in years. We were staying in the village of Stanhoe, popped in Friday night for adrink and had a fabulous lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Staff, service ambience etc all excellent. Could not have felt more welcome. Nothing more to say other than the Bar could be a little bigger

My friend and I both had the lamb tagine and it was absolutely delicious and I'm fussy! Plenty of meat and a lovely selection of perfectly cooked veg on top. I will definitely recommend to everyone and will be back!
