August is a restaurant that sits in the old heritage church on Dornoch Terrace, West End. Our dining room is surrounded by objects, art, and the original pitched church ceiling and stained glass windows. Our menu is influenced by regional food from France, Italy and Spain.August is open for dinner from 5pm on Thursday - Saturday, and from 11:30am for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. FICK Brewing Company is a local neighbourhood brewery with an indoor bar and a covered outdoor beer garden. The owners are Luxembourgish and Australian so the food is representative of that with the European-style street food such as hand-cut, double-cooked chips with Dutch Mayo, Tarte Flambees (French-style pizzas), Belgian Mussels and chips (Moules Frites), Currywurst (chopped Bratwurst with curry ketchup on chips), Farinata (North Italian chickpea pancake), as well as Wagyu beef burgers. Truly outstanding. Excellent Sunday brunch, interesting approaches. Hard to find a wrong note, but a bit more vegetables interspersed would be nice.
