Food was incredible. Large portions, not overpriced, and great service.

Fantastic evening. Perfect. Jonathon was great. The wine list is interesting. Different grapes from unexpected regions. The food was just what we needed. My only complaint is that we don’t live near enough to eat here more often.

Buca is one of our neighborhood, restaurants, and I’ve never understood why it isn’t packed night after night. The food, centering on a huge variety of pasta dishes, is tasty and dependable. We have never had a bad meal there, and many have been great. Prices are at the low end of restaurant prices these days. The only drawback, which may account for lower patronage, is that a lovely dining room is in the basement of Penn Medical building – – the one housing the department of dermatology. Outside of one small sign, there is no hint that there is a restaurant there. Obviously, that means that there are no windows, but I will take good food as a trade-off any day. Try it!

Great food reflecting a great chef at work—the vichyssoise was amazing, so was the panisse, the beet salad, and the heirloom tomato salad—it was all wonderful as was the service and the house red wine ( we enjoyed a carafe for the four of us). The noise level was a little challenging at 7-8 but only due to other animated conversations all around us. We highly recommend!
