Da Emma is a hidden Italian gem located right in downtown Montreal. Since the restaurant itself is located below street level, many people pass by this little trattoria every day without realizing it. The only sign for it is painted on a nearby brick wall in black and white and consists entirely of a downward pointing arrow and the word "Emma". It is because it is a little hard to find that diners feel like they are in on a secret not everyone knows about.Inside, Da Emma goes with a sleek and modern style complete with dark wood tones and white tablecloths. The menu consists of both classic and modern Italian plates. Some of the intricate plates that the kitchen puts out include fettucini with porcini mushroom and truffle, veal breast in rosemary sauce, four cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce and house made meatballs in marinara.

    Our waitress was outstanding and helped us understand the complete menu before ordering. We decided to try the chef’s menu, which was fabulous. We loved the different options presented. Our favorite was the sunflower risotto. Tons of food, but a great deal for the price. Highly recommend!

    The staff are so wonderful and knowledgeable. All served us without pause. Food was amazing. Definitively one to come back too. The cheese wheel past was amazing. Best I’ve ever had
